How dumb am I?
George Harrison's home in the 80s and 90s was a palatial fairytale-style castle (or however you want to describe it) which he called "Crackerbox Palace".
JL visited there (and stayed) many times; he and GH became close mates.
When JL bought and extensively modified his current house (not sure when, but mid 90s?), he christened it "Bungalow Palace".
I just realised that one name is a nod to the other.....
What other obvious things have I missed?

Does 'crackerbox' have a meaning? or is it just a random word that George picked.

The definition of 'bungalow' varies in different countries. Here in Oz, it usually refers to a small (almost jerry-built) single story dwelling - like a granny flat. In the UK, I gather it means any isolated single story home. In the US, I think it refers to a rather more grand house with a loft built into the roof. Common feature in all is the concept of being detached.

Meaning of the word bungalow - a low house, with a broad front porch, having either no upper floor or upper rooms set in the roof, typically with dormer windows. Close to what babyzoomer wrote

I live in a bungalow too! and our bedroom is in the loft space. We are thinking of putting dormer windows in to make the bedroom bigger but as far as porches go, nah...

The term bungalow is rarely used nowadays in OZ (other than in Queensland; NB: how to adjust your clocks to QLD time - turn them back 20 YEARS!). I actually hadn't heard the word used for decades until I watched "Homes Under the Hammer" a few years ago... (Pause while I think about Lucy Alexander...............)

Does 'crackerbox' have a meaning? or is it just a random word that George picked. Literally means a plain square (or rectangular) box. I rather imagine George used the name ironically.

Does 'crackerbox' have a meaning? or is it just a random word that George picked. Crackerbox Palace was apparently the name of comedian Lord Buckley's LA home. George was a fan of him.
