I had never heard this Rolling Stones song before, until two nights ago in a record store.
Come to find out it was a top ten single, the first single from their "Steel Wheels" album.
I cannot believe I had no clue whatsoever of this very cool Stones hit until two days ago. Wow.
Any cool/famous songs that you were shocked to find out completely had slipped by your radar for a long time?
Jim

Apparently, "Little By Little" by Oasis was a big hit in the UK, peaking at number 2 in 2002. I guess the song never made much of an impact in the States, because I don't remember hearing it until a few months after it had been a hit in the UK. Great song, though.

Yes it was a big hit here,Oasis were huge in the UK back in the 90s and 00s. 7 no1 albums and 8 no1 (17 top 3)singles. They had limited success in the states but never really cracked it.

A lot of great Beach Boys songs from the 1970s have gone totally under many peoples' radars.
For example.

I owned the first couple of Oasis albums, but then kinda lost track of them. Their biggest hits here in the US, were probably "Live Forever", "Wonderwall" and "Champagne Supernova".

A few Oasis songs got tons of airplay in Argentina back in their time (too much if you asked me), and "Little by little" was one of them.
"Mixed emotions" is a great song, it had slipped by me to a certain point as well. I remember when I first heard it I was in a bandmate's car going to a rehearsal about 10 years ago and it called my attention.
I could name Bob Seger's "Old time rock n roll", which I had never heard until Uno posted it here on the CD of the Week section. I remember I liked it at first listen, but it's true that it's the kind of song you gro tired of very soon.
