Here are two unreleased songs recorded in 1990 featuring Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood.
"Me and You" & "If You Can't Get What You Want".
Sorry, the video up-loader has disabled playing of this video on all sites apart from YouTube, please go there to hear the songs.
Cheers,

Is there a back story on these? Were they planning to do a whole album or was it just a bit of a friendly project?

Is there a back story on these? Were they planning to do a whole album or was it just a bit of a friendly project? As far as I'm aware, these tracks were recorded in 1990 when Jeff was in Birmingham for Mike Sheridan's 50th birthday party. It's possible that these songs came out of Jeff and Roy's jamming session on the stage.
Roy and Jeff have been good mates since 1966. They never fell out over ELO as many people believe happened.
There were other forces at work which made Roy leave ELO to form Wizzard. 10538 Overture was Jeff's first hit single, Roy had a string of hits with The Move, he realised that he'd have more success with a new band than Jeff would. Roy took Hugh McDowell (cello) , Bill Hunt (French Horn) and Trevor Smith (ELO's Sound Engineer) with him when he formed Wizzard. Jeff took charge of ELO with a hit single to his name. That situation suited the ELO management, they now had two bands to manage instead of one.
Hope that's helped you.

Woah Dave, nice find! Saved those, thanks a lot for sharing this video with us! Hi IvanDSM,
You're very welcome, I have these tracks on a Roy Wood Bootleg cd.
That's how I became aware of them, there are still rare gems on the internet to be found.
I simply love hunting them out.
Cheers,
Dave.
