I'd forgotten about this, until I checked my vast YouTube history. Jeff plays bass, with Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers of the Police.

Is that at Bungalow Palace? No, it was at Copeland's home studio Sacred Grove.

Wondered the same because of the rug.

Yes, me too. What is it about musicians that they like to perform on a rug?

Yes, me too. What is it about musicians that they like to perform on a rug? Speaking of rugs, when I went to see Procol Harum in Manchester recently the vehicle at the 'artist's entrance' was a van with writing on the side which clearly said Victoria Carpets. I immediately thought that they had come to fit a vintage-musician-grade magic rug but it turned out the band had no rug (that I could see) so the van must have been their "tour bus".

Maybe their proper tour bus broke down and a kindly carpet salesman helped them out. After all they did mention a magic carpet in Pandora's Box so there is a bit of a brotherhood there....

That would have been some anecdote! But Gary didn't say anything onstage. The next day Adam Ant was playing and he had a large and snazzy real tour bus and a megastar lorry. Obviously Ant is still too young to learn the secrets of the ancient carpet wisdom of the old rockers.

A large rug/carpet helps soak up sound; which goes a long way towards controlling feedback - especially when in a small(ish) room with a full drumkit!
Did anyone else notice that JL performed on a rug (just like the one he has at home in 'Bungalow Palace') during the Hyde Park concert....but not once he actually started touring. More of a security blanket methinks!
