How about we talk about some of the songs we'd like to hear JL cover? Yeah? Good...
MacArthur Park(written by Jimmy Webb) would be perfect for Jeff's somewhat cinematic production style..(here's an incredible live version, done on Late Night With David Letterman, a few years back)

Father and Son by Cat Stevens. I think he could do it justice.

This may be silly but I wish he'd cover Roy Orbison's 'You Got It'. That song has "Jeff Lynne" written all over it, obviously, and I never thought that Roy should have recorded it. It's Jeff's song.

I'd love to hear Jeff sing this, it's pretty ELO-esque anyway and if he sang it in that lounge-lizard way... (For the same reason the idea of Matt out of Muse covering it is also extremely appealing)

I'd love to hear Jeff sing more Beatles songs and some early Roy Orbison stuff like Only the Lonely and Crying

Why does the title of this song just make me think of the ELO song? Wonder if that was a reference to Roy on Jeff's part?

To pay tribute to the late great Chris Cornell, Jeff should sing "Set it Off" by Audioslave. I know he would get a kick out of singing the words "set that f'er off". LOL
