Only 67, really not that old, these days.

Another very sad loss to the world of classic rock.
I am fortunate enough to have seen Asia on their debut tour at Wembley Arena in 1982 and again a couple of times during their reunion tours of the last ten years.
The last time was at, of all places, Malvern Winter Gardens in 2014. I managed to book incredibly early and had seats in the middle of the front row - a few feet in front of John Wetton. That was an incredible experience as was the site of him mingling at the bar beforehand, chatting to fans and signing posters and CDs without the merest hint of impatience.
A warm and humble man, respectful of all those who put him where he deserved to be.
My thoughts are with his family and friends and of the latter, in particular, my great sympathies for Carl Palmer who has now lost arguably the most significant three musical stalwarts of his own career - in just twelve months.

Yeah, wow, what a lot for Carl Palmer to be going through: Wetton, Lake, Emerson. Probably wondering what band he will fit into now.
Maybe Asia will go on, like Journey with a replacement singer that sings just like their old one.
