Lovely pics once again Horacewimp, looks like you had lovely cloudless skies but judging by how well wrapped up people are I'm guessing it was around this time of year? The pink and yellow buildings in the last photo remind me irresistibly of neapolitan ice cream It was November 2008 (where does the time go) so it was clear skies but cold, I did go prior to that on a stag do but the photos must be in the loft thankfully nothing on the computer

Blimey, nearly 10 years ago What a shame about the stag do pics though, I'm sure there must be lots of shots of you all soaking up the culture, visiting museums and historic monuments....

Those gothic, medieval buildings I just can't get enough of. Spectacular city.
Did you see the clock in action?
Sixth photo down, Prague Castle? And the church part of the castle?
What building is the first photo?
Online trying to find what these buildings are.

Thank you!
Nothing to do with the industrial revolution? No, everything in Prague is to do with the Velvet Revolution

I haven't been to that many places abroad, though I did go with my History friends to Barcelona last July which was really nice. If anyone wants me to go into my 4 day holiday to Barcelona please let me know. For this post I'm gonna be talking about my couple of days to Liverpool I did with one of my best friends from uni, we went from 14th to 15th. As you probably all know, I'm a massive Beatles fan, The Beatles have always played a profound part in my life. I have been to Liverpool before about eight years ago with my family for my Dad's 50th, we went to watch Wolves vs. Everton (the days when Wolves were in the Premier League!) but we also went to The Beatles Story. Now because I am a hardcore fan, as well as my mother, when we went to the museum of course they were telling us stuff that we already knew but it's highly recommended. This time however I didn't get chance to go The Beatles Story, maybe if I stay for a few more days I'll get chance to. So we were stopping at The Hard Day's Night Hotel, a must for any Beatles fan because it is a Beatles themed hotel. You come into the reception and they're playing Beatles songs, it's a Beatles fan dream. It is pretty expensive but well worth it because it is a truly striking place. They also do Beatles themed cocktails at the hotel which we didn't get to sample (poor students, come on!) So the room was lovely with Wifi (gotta be done!), a television (standard really), really nice bathroom though it took a while to understand how to get the shower to work! This was how excited I was over the room: We didn't do too much on the first day, we did a bit of window shopping, got very excited over Waterstones because me and my friend love our books (well we do Creative Writing it's to be expected!), we used the hotel's wifi to watch some stuff on Netflix. We ventured to the local Wetherspoons called The Welkin for our tea, looked very posh for a Wetherspoons I have to say. The next day we went on the Magical Mystery Tour bus, which gives you a chance to see first hand all the different parts of The Beatles history such as where they grew up, where John and Paul first met and of course the famous Cavern. The tour guide was very knowledgeable though I knew most of the info, there was some stuff I actually didn't know! Roll up for The Magical Mystery Tour, step right this way! Where's the bus!!! We didn't go on the big bus instead we went on the smaller one. They of course played Beatles songs on the bus, the people on the tour with us were so boring they didn't even sing along! As you can imagine I did! Our first stop was Penny Lane: Not that much there although you could see the famous Bus Shelter where a pretty nurse is selling poppies from a tray and the Barber Shop which is now a Beatles themed one. Of course the guide played the song Penny Lane when we were there. Next was Strawberry Fields (where nothing is real) Does upset me that people have written all over it but I know that they've written on it because it is such an iconic place, there's even a few Paul is dead comments on the wall much to my disgust! Then you've got Mendips, home of John Lennon, quite an impressive house really, it's safe to say John lived in a lot nicer and prosperous area than the rest of The Beatles. John and Paul's houses are owned by The National Trust so you can have a chance to look inside and experience what life was like for the young Beatles when they were growing up. I hope to do that one day. Then you've got 20 Forthlin Road, home of my fave Macca, many of The Beatles early songs were written here. Last stop was the famous Cavern! Was very exciting to go there because well I was walking where the lads walked themselves to perform there! They even had memorbillia from people who have performed at The Cavern in the past, including a certain Sir Paul McCartney back in 1999... But even if you're not that into The Beatles, Liverpool is a fine city with lots of history attached to it and it is easy to get around due to the many sign posts though of course Google Maps is always useful too!

Great photos, Wolfie! Nice that you had the chance to do the Magical Mystery Tour, I'm sure as the big Beatles fan you are you must have enjoyed it tons. I did it too and it was great, it all becomes very vivid and you realize those guys actually existed and at some point they were like any other. Your pictures reminded me of my own experience there.
What I envy you a lot about is having stayed at the Hard Days Night hotel. I was thinking about staying there as well and gave up because it was really expensive, but then I regretted it. Have you got a few more photos of it?

I look sooo small on the pictures But yeah see what you mean when you go to the places, especially where they lived and you think omg like they actually lived here, it's sort of surreal! Yeah it is very expensive, even for one night but it's such a lovely place to stay. Ermm I didn't take too many but I'll try and find some on google That's what it looks like at the front

Nevermind, Wolfie, I can find the photos on Google as well. Plus I've seen it from the outside. I wanted to know if you had more photos from inside, like the one with the picture of baby Paul. BTW, did you share a double bed with your friend?
