I did not find this out until yesterday www.theguardian.com/music/2016/dec/08/greg-lake-obituary
It is so sad. Not only have we lost two thirds of ELP this year but, along with Kirsty MacColl, we have again lost an artist at Christmastime who was famous for their Christmas music.

It is sad, and kind of worse that he's gone at this time of year. I Believe in Father Christmas is one the best ever Christmas songs. RIP Greg.

Great voice. Not just in ELP, but King Crimson, as well.

Greg's song, as well as Roy Wood's festive masterpiece, were my favourite Christmas songs ever since I was little. I knew it was time for Santa when the BBC used them to advertise the Christmas programming. Lieutenant Kijé's 'Troika' will forever be associated with the festive season thanks to Greg.
