Ok, so ELO weren't exactly the best looking band around at the time (apart of course from Bev "Beefcake" Bevan) and Roy Wood was unlikely to get mistaken for David Essex, but they did make up for it in musical talent. But for some reason the 70s did produce some remarkably unnatractive bands and singers.
Anyway, here's my nomination for the award. Control yourselves girls.... Phwoarrr!!!

When I read what this thread was about, I immediately thought of this band -
Not that they are truly ugly really but because they just didn't look (or try to look) good.

Brilliant idea for a thread! Actually I really like an ugly band, that Jethro Tull vid is one of me faves. Anyway, I trump you all with the gloriously gurny Dan McCafferty and Nazareth. He's so scowly, I adore him  Here's another Scottish band with "interesting" looks, it's the Sensational Alex Harvey Band. Alex himself is another of me faves, and brace yourself for the guitarist, taking makeup to the extreme.... If nothing else this is a good excuse to post this awesome song, enjoy! Ah good old Slade, one of our finest to come from Wolverhampton (my beloved hometown, even though Noddy is from Walsall, booo!) Though I think Birmingham had more musical talent than Wolverhampton ever did, except of course Beverley Knight, Slade and Dexy's Midnight Runners, now some people may not class Kevin Rowland as particularly attractive though I think they were more early 80s rather than the 70s haha

Apparently it's quite hard to see them with the naked eye, you need to be looking through a camera or other type of lens?
