Plenty who are not Jeff Lynne. Let's be realistic, dillwyn, it will be a prowess if Wembley fills up, and for that you'll need all of London (14 million people urban area) plus people coming from other big cities like Birmingham. Attempting another huge stadium (even if reduced by a curtain) in a much smaller city like Cardiff would be a very bad plan for both that gig and the one in Wembley. For those reasons is that I'm surprised about this new gig date at Sheffield.

No I understand he wouldn't now , normally the movement is from the arena tour to the smaller stadiums in the uk but he has replaced several entries in the 20 or 30 k stadiums to one 70-80k stadium which is ummm...bold...especially in a place as awful to get to as Wembley. Although from the earlier posting sales have been very encouraging I believe. They haven't even announced another 'big name' which you would have expected by now if they were needing to boost sales.
I do wonder who the other acts will be Texas would be a good bet now i guess... what about the feeling to open , texas 2nd and a TBA biggish name third act

Pretty sure that Wembley capacity for gigs (with a seated floor) is 60k

yes you are right ..90k for footy, 70k without seats, 60k with seats . ..i guess the logistics must come out cheaper than hiring smaller stadiums for several gigs

Wouldn't it be amazing to have standing public on the field? Nothing like ELO/Jeff Lynne, I know, but still...

If the gig were anywhere else but Sheffield I'd have to reconsider my delight at the extra concert. But I really can't miss the chance to squeeze in an extra Jeff, even if it is close to Wembley.
As Wembley is unbelievably large in comparison to Sheffield and I'm not all that convinced my seat there will be great, I'd like to use the Sheffield concert to get a good look at Jeff. At Wembley he is more likely to be a pair of sunglasses in the distance.
But have you seen the seat prices? The cost of a similar seat to the one I had at Liverpool is far more it seems to me. £55-£121? Really? The cheapest at Wembley are only £35-ish. I don't know what to do. The expression on my face when I saw the seating prices was not unlike my father's when he reads the electricity bill.

After much soul searching and bank-balance checking I have decided to forego seeing Jeff locally . Two emotional gigs in one week is too much, maybe if there were a few weeks in-between....
Plus the Sheffield seats I wanted cost far more than the same ones at Liverpool. I'll stick with Wembley. It means going further out of my comfort zone than Sheffield but at least it will be and "experience" even if the great man is only a tiny dot on the stage. I'm always going to feel bad about not going to see my hero in my own backyard, it's like Jeff knocking on your front door and telling him to come back later because you're in the bath!
On the plus side, he may well return. I'm poised for a Liverpool or Sheffield gig in 2018 (or even for late 2017?). I'm sure there will be more surprises, after all, our Jeff is full of wonders.

Watch for resale tickets a few days before the gig, prices sometimes drop with panic sellers and you might grab a bargain! I took the family to the O2 gig for half the price.

With me living in Yorkshire, this would seem an ideal chance to pop along and see them BUT.... at those prices for a decent seat and the acoustics there not very good (having seen a few bands and musicals there) I'll save my enthusiasm for Wembley .
