Me too.is there a train station near arena and premier Inn? I don't know Sheffield very well but my daughter is at Uni there. I think you would need a train to Sheffield centre and a tram out to the venue, there is a Premier Inn and Ibis near the arena according to google maps, there are also this style of hotels in Sheffield town centre.

Jeff? At Sheffield!? Reserve me a ticket!
It's like a dream come true. Right smack on my doorstep, I can't miss this! Even if it means busking down the local shopping centre to raise the funds. I was hoping he'd come here on the 2016 tour but it was not to be. I've been to the arena before, to a craft fair (hey, I like cross-stitch) and I remember it looking not unlike the Echo at Liverpool, not too large.
Some travel info www.supertram.com/ArenaTravelInformation.html
You can get the Supertram from the station to the arena with one change, or from the city centre to the arena with no changes. Alternatively, you can get there with no changes from Meadowhall. Meadowhall can also be reached by train.

I don't know Sheffield very well but my daughter is at Uni there. Will you be going? It would be nice of you to visit your daugther some time, and if your visit just happens to fall at that time, you'd have to search for other activities to do in the city so as not to be invading your daugther's home all day long, so if there's nothing better to do...

Nah, I'll give it a miss, it's midweek so would be a long afternoon and evening traveling there and back. I've got the Wembley concert a couple of days after this so it would take the shine off it. I spoke to daughter number two 10mins ago, she was unexpressed, don't think she will be going

Yeah, you are right about it possibly taking the shine off Wembley. #2 is not going? That girl hasn't been correctly educated in the ELO principles, Horace!

I was rather hoping for a gig at the millennium stadium (or whatever the egg chasers call it this week) Municipatronaliprincipalitennium Stadium. Nah, I think the only chance of Jeff filling up a stadium that big is Wembley, and if he's doing one already I don't think he'd go for two of that kind. The risk of having it quite empty is too big.
