Oops! I should clarify that she actually died in 2011! I saw it on another forum but didn't look at the date of the posting, assuming it was recent. I was wondering why there hadn't been anything in the media about it, but now know why.
Still, aside from that error, it was still quite shocking and sad to read what happened to her in later life.

I never knew she'd died in 2011. I don't remember it reported at the time. It's even more affecting I think when you find somebody has died without your knowing. More and more I find actors and musicians I like only to discover they have already gone  . |

It's so sad how some of those icons from the '50's and '60's ended up in trouble. Once they weren't a money-making prospect their management and those who'd profited from them just dropped them despite probably causing a lot of their problems by working them so hard when they did have an audience.

Apparently it's quite hard to see them with the naked eye, you need to be looking through a camera or other type of lens?
