Thanks for sharing StrangeMagic are you sure the gold disc is for Eldorado the picture looks like it might be Ole ELO? No, I'm not 100% sure. I thought I could see Dorothy's legs, though.

A person on Facebook who has a collection of thousands of ELO photos. I like to give her credit.

Thanks, StrangeMagic. I thought maybe she was a relative of Jeff's.

Not really a rare pic as such, more of a rare advert. This is from a music paper from 1972 showing what bands were on tour around August/September time, just look at talent on show here and the ticket prices!

In the middle of the page is something called 'Dial a disc' where we in the UK could dial a number from a landline and hear a hit of the day!

I remember Dial a Disc! I think it was 16 you had to dial, we didn't have a phone but you could do it from a phone box and have aboout 30 seconds of it before you had to pay. Endless fun for my friend and I

£2.25 that’s a bit steep for me...... Just looked it up and £2.25 in 1972 would be the equivalent of £30 now, so why do we pay £100's for tickets these days? Ok, ELO weren't that big then but David Bowie and Roy Wood were household names...

Endless fun for my friend and I I remember doing it from a phone box back in 1978 before we had a landline and paying 2p for the privilege of hearing a hit down a crappy phone line!

A bit off subject. There's a telephone sign, weather beat holding it's own, hanging on a pole at our corner gas station. It reads - Call anywhere in the US for 25 cents (a minute). Phone is long gone.

It wasn't as if we could choose which song to hear! just a random hit from that weeks chart...

If only ticket prices were £30 every show would sell out. I recently bought tickets to see a group from the 70s called Sparks, they did pretty well over here in the Uk. The ticket prices were £30. I know ELO are a much larger band and the light show is stunning, so I guess you get what you pay for. I’II probably keep paying it. Still 65p, if only.......
