Give quick feedback in the following format for each song, being as respectful to fully listen to it and analyze it as possible. Then post one and someone can respond to it, and we'll see how it works.

I'll see if I get the plan right!
Star Rating: Three and a half stars from me Comments: Dylan meets the riff from Computer Games - I didn't mind listening through this one several times. Despite the implications of the video, hard not to see this as you'd expect from Larry, his experience of genuine enduring love through meeting Jesus. Although I guess it could also be read as a secondary romantic message about meeting the one designated as your lifetime partner by a wise providential God. Seems there might be a couple of small errors in the screen lyrics, with the substitution of "met her" (to match the video?) and the mangling of Larry's ambiguous reference to "the road that leads to Fehrion".

I like this idea. Maybe it can replace "....Of The Week".

Yes, more immediate and not time consuming, and "...Of The" might be running out of steam. Different though, if I read the rules right, only one person gets the chance to respond to each song.

Well, I just figure it's a boring week when the person is a no show, so just did this to fill in the gap. But I still like the idea of everyone checking out a batch of tunes that someone really likes, so for my part, I'd really like to stick with of the week. I can see where maybe at the end of the year to re-evaluate the status of it and if tweak the format. On the one hand, this is quicker, on the other hand, only one person would analyze a song as opposed to getting to share / spread the joy with everyone. Just my thoughts.

Enjoyed the feedback, Platypus. I'll check out the Spektor later and give feedback if nobody has provided it yet. Surprised you were familiar with LN, and I concur with your analysis. Jim

song: Regina Spektor "All the Rowboats" Star Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Comments: Enchanting song, great singer, beautiful arrangement, reminiscent of Enya's style. Has kind of Starbuck's feel to it. Really love the lyrics of analyzing the life-like effect of art/paintings. Great artist, would love to hear more of her stuff, for sure. "It's their own fault for being timeless", a very humorous tribute line to great art. Great line in a great and unique lyric! Star Rating (on a five scale): Comments:

Honestly,I really have almost no time to sit through a bunch of songs then come up with a review. Summer is always busy for me, so it's even more difficult now.

I see how Helmut and hw don't do it anymore. Enjoy your summer, if you want to slap one up there when it's your turn, fine, if too busy, np. Guess will just let it coast for a while. Jim

I'd join this new format though. More dynamic and you can do it almost anytime, you don't need to have a full hour to do it.
What I wouldn't limit is the amount of reviews. I'd propose anyone can give reviews with no need of posting a new song no matter if other reviews have been posted previously, then leave it to the criteria of the users as to when to post a new song (of course you've got to do it with tact, if you've posted a song not long ago let others post and only post again when approximately a full round has gone by).

Star Rating (on a five scale): Comments: Joe Jackson-Another World Star Rating- 3.5/5 Very rhythmic with lots of very unique percussion elements. I'd say it's even very African sounding, but that is somewhat inaccurate because the world music influence is all over the place. Love his raspy vocals, as well. Good melody with some interesting chord changes, and some tasty piano flourishes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My song comes from the criminally underrated UK rock band World Party, lead by the eccentric, but hugely talented Karl Wallinger. Why does this song sound so familiar? Was it used in a movie or something? Good verse with a strong melody ending up in a good hook. I like how the piano carries the weight of the song. The chorus is a bit messy though, it lacks being more well-defined IMO (proof of this is that what it repeats in the end is not the chorus but the hook at the end of the verse). The vocals are OK, pretty standard.

I don't think it's fair for someone to post a song and then be waiting for it to be reviewed in the full proper format. So I think the first one to comment on the song, should use the format. Also, it seems like if a conversation continues about a song, it would be unfair to the last guy who reviewed a song and posted a song and is waiting for the feedback. So I suggest feedback on past songs we didn't review be in terms of likes, and maybe chat or message conversations. The key is to keep the flow going. Jim
