Spotted this today seems a pretty good ELO tribute band. Going to give it a listen tonight.

has this one been posted before? Matthew Sweet is a favorite of mine from the early '90s, so I was thrilled to find that he had covered Jeff's song. I guess this was on Conan's late show but there's no video. Listen to his "thank you, ... both of you" at the end. is the drawing of "the city" intended to bring the cover of the A New World Record album to mind?

Love this, it's a perfect example of taking a song and doing it really differently

An album of covers by the late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell, has been released. One of the covers is his version of ELO's Showdown..

There is a cover of Shangri-la by the Sun Flower Orchestra (!!) from 2008 on YouTube. There are two versions, but go for the longer 6.09 one. I think it's a very good attempt and the string section is A one perfect. It's uploaded by a Jerzy Erdman. I'm not very good uploading and sharing content, but maybe someone else might be able to share it here. Footage on YouTube also shows them covering Xanadu and the Whale.
