Here are some photos I took at the opening night of the tour in Liverpool, April 5th -
Apologies for the quality of the pictures, it was a mixture of poor camera handling and intense emotion.
Attachment Deleted The Echo Arena on the afternoon before ELO hit the stage. Also pictured, a beautiful Mr Blue Sky above.
Attachment Deleted Inside the arena, the view from my seat. I can't even begin to explain how excited just seeing the ELO logos lit up made me feel. Note the amount of ladies in the audience already.
Attachment Deleted How the rest of the arena looked half an hour before the concert began. The ray of light in the centre is NOT Jeff beaming himself down from the ELO spaceship, it is the evening sun shining beautifully through the arena doors.
I'll post some more tomorrow.

More Liverpool pictures - Attachment Deleted The Feeling onstage. Note the still-empty seats. This was sad because the band was fantastic and those who missed them really missed a band on form.
Attachment Deleted Dan from the Feeling who my mum said was “looking as old as Morrissey". He was full of energy and even quipped something about the Feeling having last toured with Bon Jovi so we could guess how many years ago that was! And that ELO were a more suitable partner for them. The Feeling were the best warm-up Jeff could have had – especially when Dan said we were about to see one of the greatest songwriters ever!
Attachment Deleted
The man we had all come to see. Probably performing 'Tightrope'.

Two great shots: Sunbeam (I will call it the "Arrival") and last one of Jeff.
You sat in the area I hope to.

Some more photos -
Attachment Deleted 'All Over The World'. This is actually a screenshot of the video I took. Strangely the camera took better videos than photos. Mike really got into this song, it was like watching the world's biggest ELO fan up onstage next to Jeff!
Attachment Deleted 'Livin' Thing'. I don't know how this song could have been unexpected but it was a surprise to me. Of all the songs I was hoping to hear I forgot about this one! (I tried a bit of cropping with this photo to cut out the top of somebody's head.)
Attachment Deleted 'Ain't It A Drag'. Another screenshot. An unexpected favourite of the night.
I still have more to post tomorrow. I only seem to be able to upload three at a time.

Last one good shot - the darker ones are. I get excited just looking at these, and happy you had a good experience.

More photos -
Attachment Deleted "Shine a little love on my life": Green lasers and hand claps - what more can you ask for? One of the highlights for me.
Attachment Deleted "And I wish I was..." Another absolute highlight. Everything was perfect; beautiful. The band were so tight here. (shot experimentally cropped to remove a person's head!)
Attachment Deleted "The dancing shadows on the wall". This had perhaps the best lightshow of all. Another track that came as a surprise to me, I got really excited when this began. I'd forgotten all about it! Before the concert I had ideas about what songs to expect but once it started you just went with the flow, it was like a Greatest Hits CD on random play.

More Liverpool pictures -
Attachment Deleted "Bruce!" - Richard Tandy in the spotlight for his piano part.
Attachment Deleted Richard Tandy again. During 'Sweet Talkin' Woman' I believe.
Attachment Deleted "Soon comes Mr Night". Everyone stood up to enjoy this one. Jeff's short and sweet guitar solo was as sweet and perfect as ever and served as proof to me that Jeff has precision in his nature.

It was the only time everyone was still enough and the light was right!

The first time I became aware of the fashion for band selfies was when I saw the one Jasper Carrott did with his band when they came to my local venue. I wish they wouldn't call them selfies though.
