What?! I didn't know there was a Doin’ That Crazy Thing 12" single! I was pretty surprised to find it, especially for as cheap as I got it for ($6.99 fits perfectly into my budget!)! It’s not in perfect condition (I honestly wouldn’t expect it to be after all this time), but I’m very glad to have it! You meant the album. I was tripped up by the word single. Mine is still in the shrink wrap, a little dogged eared. I paid $5. Both fair prices.

I’d always thought that if the 12in record just had one song on each side, it was a single, but I’m obviously by no means a vinyl expert (most of what I know about vinyl came from my dad, and throughout my life I’ve learned that he’s one of those people who has a tendency to think he knows what he’s talking about when he really doesn’t!) lol My bad, didn’t mean to get anyone excited over nothing!

Hi There ELO Fans.
My Forum Name is mikelo3012 & I am a New Member to The Horace Wimp's Forum. So I am Sorry that my reply is now & not back in 2018. So here are some of The Rarest ELO Albums that I have Seen.
1) The Original ELO Album (No Answer) Quadraphonic Version (I am Sure that it was only Issued in Brazil, although it Might be Found in Other South American Countries!)
2) From All Accounts The ELO 2nd Album was Also Rumoured to have been a Very Limited Quadraphonic Promo! (But I've Never Seen It!
3) The ELO "OLE" Red Blue & White Coloured Vinyls Are Really Mega Rare. Although The Gold Vinyl Version Is Less Rare.
4) Out of The Blue Orange Vinyl Is Probably The Most Rarest ELO Record. I've Never Seen It. But I Heard Somewhere That It was due to The Record Plant Having Some Leftover Orange Wax from Another Project, So The Engineers Cheekily Used It! I Honestly Don't Think That Many Copies Exist Perhaps A 100 or So!
5) The Blue Vinyl United Artists Version of A New World Record It Is Rare But Can Be Occasionally Found!
6) There Is Also A Very Rare CBS Japanese Promo To Promote The 1986 ELO Balance of Power! Black Vinyl Side 1 Some Tracks From B.O.P & Side 2) Some Greatest ELO Hits! (It took me about 30 Years to Get A Copy)!
7) The Rarest ELO Promo Box Set That I've Ever Seen & I Have Only Seen It Once! Is The Australian Promo Version of The ELO Box Of Their Best (ANWR; OOTB; Discovery; & A Very Special Promo Single" Doin' That Crazy Thing" With "Wild West Hero" On The Other Side!) All The Records Were White Jet Labels & Marked Promo's!
8) Shine A Little Love 12 inch Version in Black Vinyl! From All Accounts It's Extremely Rare! I've Never Seen One! Although You Can Always Get The White Vinyl Version.
I Hope That This Is Interesting. Many Thanks from mikelo3012.

Interesting facts mikelo3012 what is the rarest record you own? I don’t have anything especially rare but I have the five coloured vinyl albums, OTTD Clear, Eldorado Yellow, Face the Music Green, ANWR Red and OOTB Blue.

mikelo3012, do you have your collection up on a site? I collect mostly 7"s and advertisements. Have nothing on-line. I relied on Light Years Ahead's site. Which went down some months ago. I emailed Jon and not heard anything back. Do you know anything?

But I don't know why it went down! It's a Shame Really & I do Hope that Jon is Well! But Let's Try to Keep The Light Shining Here on Planet Horace Wimp.

I forgot to mention the box of Xanadu 10” picture discs I’ve got stored under the bed. Hi Horacewimp. I am Loving your Mention of The Rarest of All ELO Records. The Missing (31) ELO Xanadu 10" Picture Discs! I Really Think That Whoever as Them, Could Sell Them @ Astronomical Prices! It's Just A Travesty of Justice & Fairness (If The Rumours are True) That Someone In The ONJ Camp Pulled it From Being Produced! After All They Were Beautiful Pictures of ONJ! I Would Have Had 2 Copies Framed on my Wall! Someone Is So Lucky! Many Thanks for Keeping The Light Shining from mikelo3012.

I think added to this LP/album list should be:- - The Light Shines On Vol 1 + 2 UK issue with Black EMI Harvest LP labels (as opposed to the normal Green Harvest labels)
- OLE ELO UK issued LP on Jet Records distributed by Polydor Jet LP 19 in 1975/1976 that was withdrawn.
- and maybe Zoom issued in 2016 on double white and clear vinyl by Let Them Eat Vinyl in the UK
I think Jon got tired of running "Light Years Ahead" site, I have on line an ELO UK singles site, even listing all known mouldings (anorak mode "ON") and do check out 45Cat for ELO world wide singles.

You have a terrific website, I refer to it a lot when I’m buying for my own collection. I never knew about the 3 Jet reissues until looking at your website. Cheers
