This was a happy find. Looking through back issues of Rolling Stone magazine, I ran across this advertisement for Roy’s album “Boulders”, released in 1973.
More info if you'd like: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boulders_(album)
Under boulder reads: "...Boulders" is simply the best finished project Wood has ever turned out..." Crawdaddy

Hush, it was FAB! Well, I rather liked it anyway. It was lots better than Mustard.

I haven't heard Mustard. It must be pretty awful if it's worse than Boulders !!

In what world is "Boulders" considered a bad album? I think it's some of Roy's best work, to be honest.

IMHO, Roy has fantastic and horrible songs on every single album. They're all mixed bags.

I have a CD of Boulders signed by Alan Parsons. He was giving a lecture on a college campus that I work at. Everyone brought their Abbey Road and Dark Side of the Moon to be signed, but not me. When I handed it to him to be signed he chuckled "Boulders". As I was leaving he said "That's a good album".

Very cool. Unlike our fearless leader (H W), did you frame it?

No,I did not frame it.
Of all the Roy solo albums I like "On the Road" the best.

I haven't heard Mustard. It must be pretty awful if it's worse than Boulders !! Mustard is a great album, every Roy Wood fan worth their salt should own it.
A couple of years ago I met Roy Wood in a bar before his Holmfirth gig with his Rock & Roll band. I asked Roy if it was true that he originally wanted to call his first solo album "Bollocks", he said yes it's true and if he'd released it now, that's what he'd have called it.
Roy changed the title of the album to "Boulders" on the advice of EMI, in 1973 the use of the word bollocks was a big no no.
I got Roy to sign my "Boulders" cd cover, here it is below.Attachment DeletedCheers, Dave.
