Fantastic, dillwyn ! Gives you the chills, how good it must have been to be there. What a pity your neighbours East didn't behave themselves as well (and didn't get such a good result).

Iceland were brilliant tonight, a real team performance wonderfully led by Cardiff city's gunnarson

Yeah, I cannot praise Iceland enough. Proud of them without even being Icelandic. 300k inhabitants and football is not even the main sport. How much of a merit that is?

BTW, dillwyn, what do you think of Bale talking so much and dissing England before the game? That would make me a bit nervous. I would rather stay shut up and try so surprise them during the game; annoying them previously doesn't seem like a good idea as they will come out to play like a wounded lion. Even having in mind England has a clueless coach and they play without passion (what Bale says about that is true) they still have players whom, name by name, are way better than the Welsh.

England football team has a awful coverage from their media. What was it bellamy said 'they may have the best squad...we have the best player' ...and even if he doesn't perform his threat will be enough for hodgson to pick 2 defensive midfielders no doubt ...mind you as wales will be parking the bus as we only have to play for the draw...it could be a tense old game if england don't score too early

Oh! Heartbreak for Wales at the death! What a pity, after having fought so hard... Sturridge was lucky that that shot went by the defender's legs and surprised the keeper.
You've got to give credit to England for never ceasing to insist though.

oh absolutely, the best team won on the day. We parked the bus and it wasn't quite enough. Must say though, despite me expecting it, it still doesn't half hurt!
Nevermind, we dust ourselves down, pick ourselves up and move onto the next game.
Good luck to England for the rest of tournament

It looks like vlogdance brought good luck to Northern Ireland! The day she arrives in the country they get their first victory ever in a European championship. Now all 3 British teams have earned at least one victory.

Something totally crazy happened yesterday at Copa America's semifinals: Chile beat Mexico 7-0. Yes, 7-0! The two teams were supposed to be very even, and there were no red cards or anything. Complete thrashing.
On Tuesday Argentina plays the semis against the US.

Yes my son has a thing about the Chilean team (gary medel(spelling?) was a cardiff player for a season. He was very excited earlier

My fellow viewers all wanted Wales to win. As I left, I wished them good luck against Ukraine. They weren't very optimistic. But we know what happened next. The power of ELO fan wishes!

He was very excited earlier I didn't know Gary Medel (you spelled it right) had played for Cardiff City. He was also a Boca (the Argentine club I'm a fan of) player. There's an important point of connection there. Your son must have been happy when they beat us in the final last year. This year, however, I think a different result is likely provided the huge potential this Argentina team has (although we must not underestimate Chile), so tell him that if he wants to switch sides he's still on time.

Yeah, I assume that all of the other British nations and Ireland (or any other country, for that matter) were wanting Wales to win. The guys at the bar must have been looking for you after the game to thank you. Sports-watching experiences can be great when traveling. Did any of them took advantage of Bale's goal to hug you?

No, they were very well-behaved. And so was I, believe it or not... But the next morning, as I was walking through the city centre, a nice man nodded at me and said "Ye wir unlucky yesterday" (local accent...) I wondered how in the world he knew - and then I remembered the Welsh flag I'd sewn on to the front of my jacket! So we had a nice chat about the football, and Belfast in general. I pointed out that I'd brought them luck, and he said "Thanks very much!" So, you see the Green And White Army (NI fans) were properly grateful!
