Wales SHOULD finish runners up at the very least,I've no doubt that they and England will progress...

First turn: England destroyed Iran. I was expecting it to be honest, no surprises here. Maybe some of you guys will feel a little more optimistic after this? Second turn: well, the motivational speech might have been effective, because after the first half I wasn't seeing how Wales could not lose that game; and on the second half they showed guts and courage (very little football), and were lucky that the US gifted them a dumb penalty. All in all very entertaining game to watch as a neutral, and everything still to play for.

Proper game of two halves... soccer first half, pel droid the second. USA had one real player (number 10) everything came through him. second half he tired. Wales also went to the more traditional style and worked their way back in and when not sitting back looked better.
tha sums up Wales though, not pretty but all heart. Those players will run through walls for each other

Would England lend Wales a hand if the possibility arises?
Imagine Wales beats Iran and England beats the US (two possible and even likely results), that would make England qualify to the next round. In the last game, if England and Wales tie, both are through no matter the result of the US (and England gets to keep the first place). British brotherhood?

This competition is starting surprisingly isn't it... the Mexico/Poland results helps little Helmut. Not too much ground to catch up.
In answer to your earlier question...Would England lend Wales a hand if the possibility arises? ....as much as I like and respect Gareth Southgate ... No Brotherhood of that type in professional football IMHO

And now Germany also fell. I wonder who is next? I've got Serbia in the sweep, so I'm hoping that they turn over Brazil tonight...

I'm sorry, guys. Not even close, Brazil was too good for them. The second goal was a work of art.
The way things are going, I will be happy if anyone but Spain is the world champion. I'd even take Brazil over Spain, and I don't like Brazil at all.

Tough luck for Wales.
Although Iran played better IMO, it is particularly annoying that the winning goal came in the 97th minute. What's with this thing of adding such stupid amounts of stoppage time on this WC? In Argentina vs Saudi Arabia they added more than 13 minutes! I miss the not so distant times when they used to add 2, 3 or 4 minutes, 5 as an extreme case.
