babyzoomer and Timeblue As a student, my husband tells me that he liked to eat Spam with rice pretty often. We went through our first hurricane together (Fran in 1996) when we were dating, and the first "meal" we had during the power outage after the storm featured Spam with some White Zinfandel (a very pink meal!) on the balcony of my apartment, overlooking the mess in the parking lot below. It's not my favorite, but Spam comes in handy sometimes! It's always in our hurricane/snow/ice event emergency kit in case of power loss.

We didn't jazz Spam up. Just threw it between two slices of bread with ketchup. YUM!
I should have written "A mainstay in our house when growing up". I won't go it near it now.

I can't get over all the different varieties of Spam in Hawaii, amazing The Spam with bacon is nice...saltier. The wife's family used to slice Spam thinly, coat in breadcrumbs and shallow fry. But I think they are missing the point; Spam is all about convenience - slap a bit between two slices of nice soft white bread and slop some condiments on......
Jeez this topic is making me hungry.
