in long wait between ELO albums, the Eagles were yet another favourite. This is so sad to hear.
Brilliant songwriters, wonderful singers...

Unbelievable! Glenn was, like Jeff, a master of all – musician, songwriter and producer. Eagles harmonies will never be the same. "The History of The Eagles" DVD is worth a watch.

Jesus, this has not been a great month or so for rock legends. Wasn't a fan of his solo career, but his work in the Eagles is stellar.

What a horrible start to the year the world of music is having! Eagles music like Jeff's crosses many divides. My daughter (20yo) asked for some vinyl for Xmas . The first album she asked for ? "Hotel California" RIP Glenn you left behind some beautiful music.

This is very sad. Another music legend lost. January has been a terrible month - Bowie, Rickman, Frey - and Lemmy after Christmas RIP Glenn

What, The Eagles are mortals? I just assumed they would still be doing tours in 20 years from now.
Guess Glenn Frey's main legacy to me would be the unassuming easygoingness of his singing and famous hits: "You Belong to the City", "Peaceful Easy Feeling", "New Kid in Town", etc.
Didn't work as well on something like "Heartache Tonight", though that's still a good one.
May God rest his soul, as well as David Bowie's. Hope he has the kind of peaceful easy relaxation in the next life as his songs have brought to us over the years.
Jim

Brutal! We've buddies who are rabid fans and attended countless concerts - travel to see them. I sent them this article. Lets see what they have to say! At the wine bar, where we hang out, a waitress always says "F***in' Eagles" when Sirius plays them. Ha!

Comment from our buddies: "Already saw it. It's by some a**hole that works for one of the smut papers. F**ker!"
Glad I didn't call them!

Can't say I was ever a big fan of the Eagles (on the other hand I never hated them as much as that newspaper guy either).
But a legend is usually a legend for good reason and it's really sad to see another one bowing out. RIP Glenn

Just goes to show "what's one man's meat is another man's poison" as someone (I don't know who. Could have been Shakespeare ,could've been Hilda Ogden)once said.
