Fantastic - the album ELO2 is being re-issued on vinyl at a decent price and with its gatefold cover. The What Records site has more details, but it is also listed on Amazon. www.whatrecords.co.uk/items/70688.htmI have been waiting a long time for this to get a re-issue, I hope it gets the Harvest label like the first album re-issue.

More re-issues related to ELO. For Record Store Day the Move EP "Something Else From the Move" and the second Idle Race album are being re-issued. The Idle Race's first album "Birthday Party" was released as part of RSD a couple of years ago and is worth tracking down. Its getting expensive to keep up.

I didn't specify this in my earlier thread, but Rob Caiger also recently confirmed the new clear vinyl pressings are cut from the same digital source as the 2001-7 remasters, Classic Albums Collection boxed set and latest high resolution download versions (which are due to be replaced by all-analogue transfers from the best possible quality tapes for a complete overhaul of the entire catalogue next year). While they're probably good from a collector's perspective, I'm more of an audiophile and can't really justify paying again for something that will provide little - if any - improvement over what's already out there. Plus, I'd rather wait for the archival releases he also promised in the hope at least one of these will be the full Secret Messages, even highlights of The Garden Rehearsals or the long-rumoured Time Tour recordings... The 2001-7 remasters are pretty bad, and the high resolution downloads are horrible. Let's hope these new transfers don't involve the immense amount of limiting and compression the current releases have.
