Lordy - not the stink eye!!! OK, I have a day off tomorrow and I've done all my boring outstanding chores so I'm pencilling in a bit of rummaging in Vinyl Corner. If it's all mouldy and ruined though I'll be back expecting lots of sympathy. I can confirm that I have the 7" picture disc for Secret Messages though - it had a competition on it which was completely beyond me so it's stuck in my memory. Also the Ticket to the Moon picture disc, it's sooo pretty The Way Life's Meant to Be is a new one on me, bet it's super-rare.

Thanks for visiting the site, I hope you enjoyed it and continue to revisit. TWLMTB wasn't I'm afraid issued as a picture disc. It was released as a 7" in the UK without a picture sleeve; both promo and general release copies are available. It was also issued in both Germany and Holland, with similar picture sleeves. The design from these picture sleeves was used as the picture for the 12" picture disc release of Ticket To The Moon / Here Is The News in the UK.

I spent an afternoon searching through all of your collection for picture and postcard disc’s and had a great time! And I learned a lot.
Checked on your site for 7” Don’t Bring Me Down (Shine A Little Love) the numbers on yellow labels: ZS8 5153, ZS8 5057 – 3 1979 CBS Inc both sides in U S site. Can you tell me about this record? Golden Oldies throws me.
Many thanks!

Thanks very much! Glad you like it Shine A Little Love and Don't Bring Me Down were released as singles in the US in 1979 under catalogue numbers ZS8 5057 and ZS9 5060 respectively. In the early 1980's, a number of 'hit's were reissued in the US as part of what Jet called their Golden Oldies series. Don't Bring Me Down was coupled with Shine A Little Love as part of this reissue series under catalogue number ZS8 5153. Initially the release was issued on an all yellow Jet label but was then reissued with a yellow Jet label but with a white box on each side which was initially meant to enclose a barcode but for some reason this didn't happen. A third version of the record was then released under Jerry Green's Collectables Collector Series 45's - this record was under licence from Jet and had an all grey label and a bespoke Collector Series company sleeve. The grey label series of Collectable reissues are very uncommon and highly sought after.

Meh, I did venture into the room only to find that Mr Musette has piled up all of his work stuff out of the car in front of Vinyl Corner, so he could fill up with camping gear and booze to go to Bloodstock. It's mostly spares for fixing washing machines and stuff, can't be arsed to move it all but I promise faithfully to get in there as soon as he moves it back next week. In the meantime, I've made a stack of chocolate brownies as a peace offering *offers plate* In other news, as you were discussing Shine a Little Love - is the white vinyl 12" at all sought after? Not sure if that was the standard issue or if there was also the usual 7" black version. I think I also have a 12" yellow Wild West Hero....

The white vinyl 12" of Shine A Little Love is very common however it was released in very limited quantities on 12" black vinyl.... which is very rare and worth a great deal of money!!

Sorry I got on your ass in the other post;didn't see this one.
A crate of eyeliner on it's way to you from me. (Postage paid upon receipt)
Some want close to $70 for the yellow 12's'?!? Delusional?

Mwaahahaa, fooled you with my ninja-like postings.
And if anyone wants to pay me $70 for my yellow 12" it's fine with me *hopes*
I shall redirect the eyliner to "Mr J Lynne, California", I'm sure the post office will find him. Could be a whole new look for him. If there were more pics minus the sunglasses we could draw our own eyeliner on him, how inconvenient.

Flash news! Was rummaging in a totally different, spider free and dry cupboard, and discovered all my ELO 7" stuff. Seems we put all our singles there ages ago. Can report I found two postcard singles (both All Over The World but with different pics), some coloured vinyl and the Secret Messages picture disc. I'll start a new thread where it'll all be listed and see what people think is any good. Still promise to get round to the 12" stuff this week if poss
