I think the title explains what this thread is about.
I posted a question here about a certain ELO album. I also went to eBay in search of answers for another album. After reading my post unomusette wrote that there should be a "Collector's thread where we can ask questions and/or boast about our collections, maybe get some valuations from those who are up on such things". What a nifty idea.
I would like a sub-board in this section, or where Horace Wimp thinks best, so this thread does not get buried. He's on vacation and so will need to wait on this.
I have a question, but a photo is needed. I should have this item soon.
I hope this will bring in more members and more participation from existing.
Ask or boast away!

There you go BSJ, I just need to move the board down a little to by the polls area I will do that when I'm home, I can't seem to move it on an iPhone.

Proud to be midwife to this Is there an ELO holy grail which everyone wants but can never find, maybe because hardly any were made? Or if you do find it, it's likely to be a fake? Don't expect I'll have it but if anyone else does here's the place to show off about it. And is the "Jeff peering at the world" cover of OTTD worth more than the bellybuttons one? I remember discovering it on a stall at a festival years after I got into ELO and thinking what a total rarity it must be but it seems to be quite common. Just my luck.

Or is that asking a bit too much.....(..is that how you spell it )?

Hey livinthing,
Hubby and I just bought your picture disc shown. The pictures disc's we collect have the album cover printed both sides of the disc. This one we have no clue, but popped on it anyway. Does a cover exist?
And, are there other ELO disc's out there?

Your welcome, I even managed to get on the computer in the hotel reception to do some minor adjustments, I told Mrs Wimp I had some important office work to carry out

And, are there other ELO disc's out there? Not exactly picture discs, but I definitely have at least one single on a postcard you can play on a record player, from somewhere in Eastern Europe. I can't even remember which album they were off, I really must dig everything out and make a proper list. Anyone else have them? If I had to guess I'd say they were around the OOTB era.

I remember having singles made of square postcard stock for other bands.
Love to see this! Is this your holy grail?
if you need help digging, I'm just a few bottles of wine away.

I'd like to see it (or even them if I'm lucky) too. Lord knows what else is there, I used to buy all sorts from the back of Sounds and other mags. I really doubt any of it is worth anything though. All my old ELO stuff is squashed into one of those boxy record cases which in turn is wedged between my and Mr Musette's other vinyl on a dodgy home made storage unit in a corner of the house which I have a horrible feeling might be damp. Been there since we moved in 20 odd years ago. So I'm a bit nervous about getting it out in case it just moulders away when touched like something out of Indiana Jones. But the more I lurk around this site the more I feel I should get in there. And now you've mentioned wine as part of the exercise which has doubled the enjoyment potential....

Does a cover exist? And, are there other ELO disc's out there? Hi BSJ. The disc show in my Avatar is my own copy of Ticket to the Moon 12''. There is no cover for this and I don't think there is one although the same artwork appears on the European ( not UK) 7'' picture sleeve of The way life's meant to be. As mentioned later, the only other picture disc as far as I know is Secret Messages 7'' which has a unique design different to the picture sleeve release. All the best. PS. The six sided accitates are what is believed to be Secret Messages in its intended double album form plus sides 5 and 6 containing different mixes to the tracks. Only two sets are believed to exist so to me any many of us this 'IS' the Holy Grail.. Bye.

Keep your eye on the prize! Get digging! Yessir! *salutes* Liking the sound of this six sided Secret Messages thingy, wonder if anyone has it? Would it have been some kind of promo passed out to the media (so there'll be a few around), or just a one-off for thinking about before release (in which case it's probably in Jeff's understairs cupboard somewhere and is indeed the Holy Grail)
