I don't know why, but the thought of John Lennon listening to the Xanadu soundtrack amuses me no end. It shouldn't but it does.

You stepped out of a dream Believing everything was gone Return with what you've learned They'll kiss the ground you walk upon.

I'd argue that this is one advantage of seeing an ELO tribute act. I saw the ELO experience at work play a set that I think was a couple of hours that contained all the usual hits you'd expect plus a couple of nice treats like all of Concerto For a Rainy Day, 10538 Overture and Wild West Hero. I'd love for the actual AITU tour to contain a few songs for the die hards - even if this mean the casuals will go for a piddle or wet their whilstles for a bit. Throw in a Danger Ahead, Birmingham Blues, From The Sun to The World, Hold on Tight or Ma-Ma-Ma-Belle. A small part of me is hopeful that one of the two Birmingham gigs will contain a few different inclusions due to the nature of the event. The aforementioned Birmingham Blues or Hello My Old Friend wouldn't go amiss and would be very fitting given the occasion. An encore with Bev Bevan is unlikely - Even if they just played Don't Bring Me Down for the hell of it (Bev and Carrott finish up with that and Mr. Blue Sky on the Rock with Laughter tour -- also a show I had the perk of seeing at work) -- If Roger Waters and David Gilmour from Pink Floyd can put things aside to play Comfortably Numb/Outside The Wall live then I think Lynne, Bevan and Tandy can give us one last moment to remember.

im up for any material Jeff wants to throw in....off any of the albums....I don't mind....Bev turning up....interesting, I wonder if he will go in disguise to one of the Birmingham dates....or somewhere near by perhaps....but play....I think ive got a better chance than Bev of playing on stage with Jeff....and I don't play anything....lol....I suppose I could try and learn something by next year....
as for 'one last moment' to remember...lol...is it you or them popping off?.....I was hoping there would be another album of original material in a couple of years time once Jeff has recovered from the tour which he is clearly looking forward to....the guy seems, and I believe is, genuinely humbled at the reception he is getting everywhere....but it sure must be nice to know he will get an even better reception every night of the tour next year.....
I think several people have said they would like an acoustic 'bungalow' style set in the middle...that would be nice....but hey...ive got my ticket.....well....Ticketmaster have got my ticket....so all I can do at the moment is look at the space on the fridge where it will go very soon...
