Simon...you should have said...bah...never mind...lol...didnt meet nick...doh...ahhh...maybe there should be a forum get together...maybe... Looks like your pic is from the left of the stage as you looked at it...i was just to the right of centre...couldnt quite look Jeff straight in the aviators... I don't think I realised who you were until I read your post after the event - always next time though! I know what you mean about looking Jeff right in the eye though. There's something quite unnatural about staring at someone in the face for a prolonged period of time. You'd never do it in everyday life (well, most wouldn't), so it can feel quite intense. Luckily the stage was loaded with musicians so lots to take in. It's even worse when it's a solo acoustic show! Wonder if Jeff has considered an acoustic slot for Richard and himself on tour...just 20 mins...that would be tea grand...

Sadly, I've found in my experience (and maybe I've just been unlucky) that the O2 crowds can often be quite chatty - and drunk - so I'd fear that they might get drowned out slightly. Last time I was at the venue, loads of tickets in the front sections were seemingly given away to random city yuppies, who possibly work for affiliate companies, and they turned up just for a social night out, in essence, talking loudly throughout the show. Lots of angry fans around them, but stewards can't really do anything. At least if they rock out it will ensure everyone is drowned out!

Must agree about the O2, I went there to a gig which had sold out in minutes but I'd managed to get a seat near the stage which would have been highly prized and pretty expensive. Immediately the band came on everyone started getting up and wandering off, to get drinks, to visit the loo, who knows? Why didn't they do all that before? It was properly annoying, they kept wanting you to move or wandering across your field of vision, arghhh! To be in that section you should really have been a rabid fan but probably most of them had been given tickets just for knowing/working for the right people in the media

I'm sure it will be great, and that I just had a bad experience that time. ELO fans do seem especially friendly and well mannered, so I'm sure it will be one big love-in!

I had a wonderful time and it was great meeting fellow fans. You can also see my bald spot (from space?!) in a few of the shots. My friend who works at the BBC in Bristol said that if I ever went to Broadcasting House I'd wonder how programmes ever got made. Now I know what she meant. It's quite shambolic. I think Mike Stevens seems an excellent MD. Knows his stuff. Seems very level headed. I'd love him to sneak his sax solo from Take That's A million love songs in some time that would be funny.
