N'aww he looked quite nervous, probably because he was having to do it again. Not many in the audience, well done to nickheynes and thewordsofaaron for getting in

Big thanks to HoraceWimp for alerting me to this recording, as I managed to get in and had a great time - right at the very front with an unobstructed view was amazing! Just a shame they couldn't have played all night, but I did know it was only one song going in, so didn't get my hopes up for anything more. I did think it came across in the studio much better than on TV, but it's always hard to replicate the sound when you're not actually there.
Think I may have been queueing behind a couple of fellow members while waiting to go in, and had a brief chat too. I'm guessing it was Nick and Aaron, so if so, great meeting you guys!

Naturally, photography wasn't allowed during the performance, but I did take a couple of shots before it started that show just how close we were!

Congrats to you too, simon, for getting in Having gone to all the trouble of setting it up you would think you'd have had a couple more songs - to paraphrase Joe Walsh you can't complain but sometimes you still do....I suppose it comes down to Jeff wanting his tea and some footy, sigh.

Yes, I thought that with it all set up they may just play another song for the crowd anyway, but it wasn't to be. I'm guessing the BBC have complete control over these bookings, so maybe they didn't want them to do any more. Rob, who had been handling email bookings and also introduced the band at the start of the evening, also joked that those who weren't BBC staff should raise their hands - and hardly anyone did! So it was a predominantly a BBC crowd, it seemed, so maybe they didn't feel compelled to play more. That said, it was always advertised as a one song recording, so at least we got to hear two songs in the end (even if they were the same!) Great afternoon out anyway!

Blimey, then it's even more of an achievement that you three forumheads wormed your way in. BSJ and I will be having to add you to our ninja sisterhood. Don't make a face like that! It's an honour!

Was a moment to cherish certainly. I sort of couldn't look at jeff. Band were tight. Except WOA was right jeff was really late at the end. I think he was enjoying the solo! I looked him straight in the aviators...with a flash of eyes behind them...lol Reckon you are right...Jeff was laid back...quite relaxed...quick joke about having to do it again... Shame more peeps weren't there...but...from what I can gather one of the beebs security guys said there wouldn't be many...i get the feeling that may be the norm for a one song effort whoevers playing... But I wouldn't have missed I for the world anyway...

I don't think I realised who you were until I read your post after the event - always next time though! I know what you mean about looking Jeff right in the eye though. There's something quite unnatural about staring at someone in the face for a prolonged period of time. You'd never do it in everyday life (well, most wouldn't), so it can feel quite intense. Luckily the stage was loaded with musicians so lots to take in. It's even worse when it's a solo acoustic show!

I know they're back in the same venue tomorrow night, so testing out the sound quality perhaps (or using it as a quick rehearsal, even)?
