No, there were three string players parked behind the don the drummer...one of the string section swapped between cello to violin I think. I was paying more attention to JL/RT. Who were about 10 foot away.
The band did not include the 10cc chap. Mick Wilson?...still about 10 in the band, lots of handshakes for them...none of audience

Not a big fan of TFI and I've rarely watched it,but I always assumed that it was a live show and everything was done live (or almost live) so why has Jeff recorded this?

There are live bands on the night but in this series I've noticed they are having perhaps 3 music acts. That is a big ask to turn that around in an hour. The crowd organiser talking to the queue yesterday stated ELO's set up was 'king massive' (10+ musicians would support that point I guess), so it would be easier all round to do it that way. I've seen two episodes this series and both U2 and Duran Duran did the same thing.
The band were very impressive whoever sees them on Monday are in for a real treat. Wiwab has an even better energy live

Slightly extreme reaction. I was only making the point that touts in general weren't getting their hands on Porchester tickets. I made no comments on the ethics of the secondary ticket market in general, simply that there didn't appear to be one for Porchester. Incidentally I bought ONE ticket for Porchester, as I didn't have anyone who could definitely make it with me. I obviously applied for TFI in a bit of hurry, and applied for a pair not even knowing if I would get in and thinking as it was a free, there was more chance of getting a friend to go even if they were a casual fan. As it looks like I'm going by myself I thought I'd mention the spare. I wasn't charging for the ticket, but if someone I didn't know offered to get me in to a show, as has happened in the past, I'd expect to treat them to a beer. I've spent over £30 in train fare and just mentioned if you wanted to help towards that it would be appreciated. It was in no way compulsory. Sorry to have offended you. Consider it withdrawn. I'll let em know at the venue and they can give someone else the ticket. dont tell me its extreme and try to wangle out of it, youve commited the crime....and as you obviously cant be arsed to go look in a dictionary... tout - verb to sell tickets for something such as a sports game or theatre performance unofficially, usually at a much higher price than the official price you cant make the comment that touts cant get their hands on the tickets then tout the bloody thing yourself you idiot....and if you had any moral code, and clearly you dont as you were going anyway, you would simply make someones day and give the ticket away at what it cost you fiscally...nothing... now...i know i am right and you can argue the toss till the end of the universe...but even you know you are in the wrong.. YIKES!!! This is not a very nice place, is it? Edit: Well I see there was a group hug. That's nice, but I fear one member is gone. Thewordsofaaron I will try very hard not to piss you off, sheesh.

@ole and ALL other forum members, never feel you can't post as you might upset a member or be intimidated so you don't post. Should you have concerns about any members actions or their posts please report them immediately to me. This can be done by PM or by clicking the report this post button, in doing so a email to me will be generated and so I can take the necessary action much quicker. Unfortunately I wasn't online when the events of yesterday occurred and so by the time I was any harm was already done.

I'm glad there was a group hug too, that's the kind of happy thing which makes this a great forum, but it's a shame we weren't all here to enjoy it. I agree with Horacewimp in that I think the ticket offer was sincerely meant, we've seen on other threads the sort of prices real touts are asking. My initial reaction to it was how great it was that someone else might get to go too, however if thewordsofaaron felt differently it's their right to say so. Maybe a little less forcefully but it's done now. I really hope eldorado comes back one day anyway, I for one would be pleased to roll out the welcome mat.

Chris Evan's mentioned ELO were appearing on TFI this Friday. Interestingly he mentioned the stereophonics were on as well. Kelly Jones leaked he would be doing something with Jeff (on TFI) during a R2 interview with Jo Whiley a couple of weeks back.

I just saw Jeff perform on TFI. It was worth watching the whole programme to see.
He looks so much cooler than all the younger people on the show. He doesn't even need to try.

So they also did Livin' Thing ... I'm assuming it will be on a Christmas special or Saturday uncut version.
