Here's another ELO gem rarely mentioned. It's the sunniest happiest gayest goddam wiggle yer ass song in the whole canon. It's in my head whenever I am extremely happy. If I was advising Jeff I'd say "Dude, dig this wonderful thing up and play it live, maybe even as the first song. What an opener!"
Discuss.

And, on the album (ANWR) Livin Thing follows keeping that momentum of joy.

Yes, Such a happy song! Ooo-la-ooo-la-ooo-la-ooo-la-ooo! They played it at Hyde Park, right? It would be a great opener!

Reminds me a lot of an old Doobie Brothers song.

So Fine and Turn To Stone are two of my favourites, you clearly have excellent taste, @ole.
I listened to So Fine as I drove home from work tonight. Just hearing the intro makes me feel good.
I remember when A New World Record was in the charts, and BBC2 used to use the intro to So Fine as a cue for their "coming up soon on this channel" trailers. I used to wonder if people knew ELO were performing it.

They played it at Hyde Park, right? Really? It makes me very happy if Jeff is playing this one. I really really wish it wasn't the same 20 greatest hits all the time. There are so many great other ones that people will appreciate.

'So Fine' one of my favourite tracks on ANWR. And probably only one of a couple of songs I hadn't already heard before I bought the album.
It's such a wonderful track - it feels like a secret ELO number because it's so neglected in favour of 'Telephone Line', 'Tightrope', 'Livin' Thing' etc. Not enough songs these days are as catchy. "ooh oooh!"

I remember the very first time I heard this song, and that instrumental break shocked me....so unusual for ELO. Very minimal beginning, building up to that wonderfullly happy DAH DAH DA DA DA DAH DAH......fantastic. But unusual.

Are you sure you don't mean YES!!! ..oh, alright then, why do you think it spoils it? I'm with @ole , it's something a bit different and playful (and unusual because of that too). I like to imagine the whole band tinkering away together at it, like something out of the Muppets

For me it's just an OK song, pleasant, but far from brilliant. Out of the 9 songs from ANWR I'd place it at #6 or #7.
