im not a fan of his recordings of some older records of other artists either to be honest.... i like the original recordings in the format they were then, the magic way they were recorded and sounded then...thats how it should be... Agreed.

Regardless of our opinions or outlooks on a Volume 2, didn't the relatively recent The Very Best of ELO, Volume 2: Ticket to the Moon tank commercially... especially when compared with it's predecessor?

there are too many 'best of' elo albums and 'greatest hits'....they outnumber the original albums...i know, they make money...but...enough is enough...surely...

Some of us have been saying this since before we were even born. Does anyone realize how hard it is to be heard from the inside of a belly? It's like trying to outrun a cheetah sporting a jet pack.

I think this perpetuates the notion that all ELO have released is 'Mr Blue Sky'. And it doesn't address the fact that, by sticking a spaceship or futuristic imagery on the cover, most people will have no idea that ELO started off by making decidedly non-shiny pop music.
