Why are they so committed to giving us the new album in shreds? If we listen to this (which probably all of us will) then when the day of the new album's release finally comes we will already know 40% of it's songs. And that, provided that they don't release something else in between, which at the pace we are going could happen with a few more songs. I wanted a bomb of 10 new songs exploding at the same time on November 13th. Now with each song given to us in advance the album loses a 10% of it's joke for me.

I know what you mean Helmut. It'll be like trying to avoid the football scores all day on a Saturday so you can watch Match of the Day on Saturday and be surprised ( UK ref there sorry)
Having said that "when I was a boy" is Radio 2's record of the week and I haven't heard it once this week!( And we have R2 on all day at work.)

Thanks pack8398 for the information, it does seem odd that another song is to be released especially when "When I was a Boy" is the record of the week (I've heard it once on Ken Bruce show) To be honest I don't mind hearing snippets of the album before it is released, I guess I've become use to it as it is how other artists work these days by drip feeding the fans.

They might be trying to attract a new fanbase rather than have the album bought just by the old ELO supporters who are in the know about it coming out.

It wouldn't sound out of place on Balance of Power, which isn't a bad thing.
Of the four tracks I've heard so far I think this is least impressive, in saying that it's still very good, so I'm very much looking forward to the album.

In Argentina we also have a couple of shows on Sunday nights (most games are played on Sundays here) similar to "Match of the Day", where a summary of the weekend's action is displayed.
