I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think that as far as the UK is concerned it'll be the 3 nights at the O2 ,3 in Brum. Maybe Glasgow but that'll be it. Also Spring 2016 makes sense if Jeff's going to use Mike Stevens and Take That's touring band as TT aren't doing anything next year as far as I know. I'd spend a small fortune on a meet and great but cant see that happening! Why? Most bands and artists do "meet & greets" before their gigs - even the Eagles. All part of the promo. just because he's very shy!

This is excellent news, but I wish it mentioned a tour as well. He'd better not be planning to dust off the hot air balloon again..... I reckon if he does do live dates they'll use the video backdrop from Hyde Park which will look best in the largest arenas, it probably cost a bomb and they'll want to get their money's worth.

...and speaking of the VIP package, he might try what I've seen a certain band promoting, at three times the price of an already pricey ticket. There is no meet and greet, all the benefits are before the gig and there's no way you'll meet the band then. You get to enter the arena before the peasants and view the merch in relative peace, you can nab a good space on the barrier if that's your thing or have a reserved good seat, and go to a special bar with free nibbles but pay for drinks at probably huge prices. You get to see a bunch of private memorablia and have a specially printed poster and laminated badge and the services of an "on site concierge" whatever that is. Some nutters are actually paying upwards of 200 quid for that, I am amazed. And I hope Jeff's management doesn't try and pull the same stunt

Sorry to be bitter, but wasn't that a band which's fans swallowed the anti-capitalist bullshit during decades? I appreciate the fact that Jeff never tried to sell us that shit and preach us about the bads of earning money while sitting in his private jet.

Just you wait. I paid $7.50 to see him in 1976. If tk6 is lucky, we'll at least have the car to live in.

What are your expectations about this, BSJ? Are you willing to travel to see him live? If so, how far (assuming he will just play in the US bigger cities plus maybe Toronto)? Would Chicago work for you?

I am looking forward to it! As long as he finally gives a concrete release date...

Apparently Jeff is not scheduled to appear on The One Show this Friday, just Chris Evans Breakfast show.

If they play the NEC it's pretty easy to train it in... Get off at Birmingham International and walk through the complex. About a 10 ish min walk from the station, parking is the best part of a tenner now!

I think the same! Or the section I want is taken! It would be nice if the fans got some priority booking before the general public, maybe by a code distributed by the Showdown list, this sometimes happens for other bands. Procol Harum gave their fans priority booking when they did their BBC Radio 2 concert in London. An announcement was made on their website (not official website, a fansite which takes the place of an official site). For about a month in advance of the show's official announcement fans could have their pick of all the tickets and the fans' seats eventually took up about a quarter to half of the seats. Once the show was officially announced on the BBC it sold out sharpish. I think this is how the ELO shows should be sold.
The only problem is that Procol have a kind-of-official fan website which Jeff does not. There is this forum which, as far as we know, has never been visited by Jeff or any member of ELO and related artists. And there is Jeff's Facebook and own official site which seem only to be concerned with posting information and not encouraging conversation or fan participation. Jeff probably doesn't even read what his "people" are posting because he has better things to do - like his LP!
Procol's site has frequent input from band members who know that being good to their fans means their fans are good to them. However, although Jeff is a top bloke who clearly appreciates his followers, Jeff is a busy guy who likes privacy. He probably doesn't even know he has as many mad fans as he does. He leaves the business of promoting himself to others but these people are probably more concerned with selling tickets full stop rather than keeping the true fans happy :-(.
I truly hope the tickets get to all the real fans. Not just those who think all Jeff wrote is 'Mr Blue Sky' and haven't even heard of the Idle Race. I also hope the touts don't take over. It's not fair to make people who have waited so many years to see him play pay over the odds and be exploited.
I hope Jeff will not be exploited!
