This is wonderful news. I wonder if it'll be Jeff Lynne solo (with maybe Richard) or he'll reach out to Bev Bevan (who I think might still be touring with Jasper Carrot and co.) -- If this becomes Lynne, Tandy and Bevan I'll eat my hat.

Fabulous news. Exciting times.
I think the last few months he may have been spending ELO'ing what was going to be a solo album - all down to the unexpected huge success of Jeff Lynnes ELO at Hyde Park and associated feedback.
I don't think Bev Bevan will be on it. 99.9% certain of that.
Hoping news of this develops very quickly.

It will of course be Jeff solo with perhaps a plink or a plonk from Richard. No Bev, no other former member, no way.

This is great news, and very surprising that Jeff is back on a major label like Columbia(home of Springsteen, Dylan, Billy Joel, Beyonce, Adele, Bowie, among other big names...). Hopefully, they promote the shit out of his new music. Wonder what happened with Frontier Records? I mean, for a small label they did an ok job promoting "Long Wave", and "Mr. Blue Sky".
Can't wait to hear what Jeff's cooked up!

YES! What a wonderful thing to wake up to on Facebook. Helmut83, you owe me an apology lol I would be the happiest man if I had to give you that apology (or, more than apology, a recognition for having won the bet). However, the album hasn't been released yet, and you know the measure of time "soon" in Jeff's own world might mean several months, which could take us to next year... In any case, this is fantastic news. I can't wait till I have the damn thing in my hands, put on my headphones, lie in a couch with a glass of liquour and dedicate myself 100% to hearing it.

As for Bev Bevan on it, forget about it.

Hurrah!
Although this reveals nothing new to us who have been patiently waiting since 2012 it is at least a sign!
Is the little chappie (Fred, not Jeff!) a clue that that the album will be full of the old ELO pizzazz? I certainly hope so and the thought makes me very excited indeed.
If anybody, apart from Richard, guests on it I'd imagine it would be Macca, Joe Walsh, Ringo or Ayrton Wilbury. I'd fall off my chair if Roy popped up.
"Set to release". "Set" - as in ready to go? All ready? All done and dusted? Finally? Will we be holding the CD in our hot little hands before Christmas? I've been waiting so long I'm not sure I'm ready. Ever since I began to love ELO I've been waiting for this album - I don't know what it feels like not to wait!
How soon is this "more news" coming? This new information is like getting a Christmas advent calendar - you know the Big Day is coming but you have to count each chocolaty day, until you finally get to the door you've been so eager to reach.

Sony, Jeff's former label, owns Columbia, so this isn't a surprise. This has been slowly building over the past couple of years, so it's great to see it finally culminate into something big such as this.

I'm sure she jinxed the Zoom tour
