Out of the Blue was a five way tie (thanks guys!! I think we will need to run semi finals now) between Turn to Stone, Sweet Talkin' Woman, Stepping Out, Sweet is the Night and some other song I can't remember remind me Helmut83, oh yes that filler track Summer and Lightning Round six gives us Eldorado, which is the best track, vote above.

I think Jeff Lynne is at the top of his game vocally on Laredo Tornado, so I will vote for that song.

Tough one - 'Nobody's Child' for Richard's piano.

The obvious choice is "Can't get it out of my head", which -this time yes- I agree is the best song of the album.
However, because I'm a complicated guy I'll go with "Illusions in G major". I love that little rocker.

Boy Blue for me, the intro and middle bit are simply amazing and I love all the crusading lyrics about being jailed and impaled etc

...I love all the crusading lyrics about being jailed and impaled etc Yeah, that's pure poetry, no doubt! I remember once I wrote a poem to a girl and it talked about being impaled and such. For reasons I never understood that relationship didn't last much longer.

chicane... woo hoo !! It has to be, easy choice. I'm sure Jeff sings "she came" when singing live or is it my cloth ears?

Live it looks and sounds to me like "on a wave she came" - it's also a more direct rhyme to "name":
But watching Jeff's enunciation here, where I think he's probably miming, it seems to be "a wave chicane":

Illusions is a vastly underrated song.
