What's your favourite unreleased song or songs of ELO?
When I say "unreleased songs" I mean songs that they were discarded of the original album and placed in future compilations like Afterglow.
Mine are: "Everyone's Born to Die" and "Point of No Return".
Many times I wonder why "Everyone's Born To Die" wasn't released in "On The Third Day"... It's an amazing song!

Does "Hello my old friend" count?

"Julie Don't Live Here",and "Everyone's Born To Die" are my two favorites.
I don't think I'd call "Point Of No Return" an unreleased song, though.

I think it was the B-side to Hold on Tight but I loved, 'When Time Stood Still'. I may be the only one though.

I love 'When Time Stood Still', especially for it's brilliant bass.

It sounds very Dylanish to me. If it would have been on the album (OTTD) it would have been it's best song in my opinion. In fact I voted for it in the "Your top-10 ELO songs" thread. Assuming we are talking about the ones which were not oficially released as part of an album or LP, there are a few others which I like: - The Bouncer (a personal favorite) - Latitude 88 North - Surrender - Julie don't live here - Buildings have eyes - Hello my old friend All of these should easily have made the official albums IMO.

Adding my votes for Surrender We are agreeing about one song, Uno? What's happening to this world? I better not go out today...

Who knows what interesting and enlightening happenings might befall you? I think you should go for it. I'd do it myself too, but it's dark and I've just eaten a very big teatime bowl of soup so I'm pretty much anchored to the sofa for a while

Here it's raining cats and dogs since almost 2 weeks ago (maybe we have caused it by agreeing about one ELO song!). Geez, even a Welshman would be appalled by such a rainy, grey and cold climate! I'm not sure I want to go out under these conditions, so the excuse of strange things happening came in handy.
What was the soup made of?

I bet it's warm rain though, I'd expect nothing less from your corner of the world. And it's probably helping the garden grow like a jungle. I made the soup myself, out of bacon and veggies, it's supposed to be low calorie because it's the only food I get on a fasting day like today. I think I put too much chilli sauce in it, but it's SO boring without it. Roll on tomorrow when I can eat biscuits and drink cheap red

Warm rain? Well, it's not Petrograd, you bet, but it's not warm either; in fact it's quite cold. But hey, what am I complaining about? I'd rather have this that the sweltering summers we've been having lately in Buenos Aires.
Bacon doesn't sound like low calories, but I suppose it must be just a small amount mixed up with veggies. Talking about soups and climates, how is it that you are having a soup in the middle of the summer? Don't you get all boiled up with that?

I'll go with "Julie Don't Live Here". It's very Bee Gee-esque.
When I got the single I made a Time tape where I edited out "Another Heart Breaks" and inserted "Julie Don't Live Here".

I adore 'Julie Don't Live Here' and 'The Bouncer' but these don't seem like "unreleased" songs anymore. In fact, at least to ELO fans as faithful as us, they can be more well-known than the songs released proper.
'Surrender' could possibly be my favourite ELO track full stop. But unlike Julie/Bouncer and some other unreleased songs it doesn't quite seem to fit the established ELO sound and therefore feels more "unreleased" to me.
