Just switched on Pick Of The Pops on BBC Radio 2. Today, Gambo's featuring this week's chart from 1981. Hold On Tight is playing as I type. (It was at Number 5 this week in 1981.) Lou's Hooked On Classics was also in the top 20 at the time, but on its way down the charts, so it didn't get played today. I'm a terrible cheat at Pick of the Pops - I always look up the number one single in my reference book in advance.

Went to the dentist this morning, while in the waiting room another customer commented on my Jeff Lynne’s ELO Birmingham t shirt.

This morning, Brummie DJ Les Ross played Mr Blue Sky on his Boom Radio show.
Later on, Boom Radio's vintage charts show featured this week's chart in 1973. What was No 1? Angel Fingers by Wizzard, no less.

I'm at a local food truck festival now with lots of excellent choices. The live band is really good, covering songs from the 1960s to fairly recent music. During their break, we've been listening to prerecorded music, and up came Mr. Blue Sky. Then Sara Smile.... Nice!!

On Talking Pictures TV at the moment, Francis Of Assisi. Young Francis, or Francesco, as he was known in the later Brother Sun, Sister Moon in the early 70s, is heading off to war. How he reacts when he gets back prompted me to find a video for Boy Blue. I didn't find anything 'live'. But, then, this popped up... ... the wine that flows like water... Not related in any way to St Francis, but a terrific live performance of a favourite track from Eldorado

After a birthday dinner with my son in DC, we went into Kilwin’s for dessert. As soon as we entered, MBS came on. It paired well with the sugary aromas.😄
