A bit misleading IMO as the band didn't appear on the show to perform the song, only the video was ever shown...

Tonight BBC4 will be showing "Top Of The Pops 1978 - The Big Hits" at 8pm. A certain ELO song will be on the playlist. No, not The Battle Of Marston Moor. Well in that case there's no point watching it

Did Janes Dean Bradfield not once say he preferred ELO to the Beatles?

Never really heard him in interviews before but JDB comes across as quite articulate and interesting...

I've met James Dean Bradfield on a few occasions, and he is such a nice guy, always hangs around to meet fans after the show, sign autographs and answer questions. He has mentioned his love of ELO on quite a few occasions over the years And the Manics are the band I've probably (bootleg) recorded the most over the last 16 years! If you get a chance check out his latest solo album "Even In Exile".

BBC Radio 2's Tracks Of My Years - 16th September 2020... 'Wild West Hero' is perhaps the most Manic Street Preacher-y song of ELO's. I can well imagine James Dean Bradfield singing it. I'd really love to hear it.

Also the font used seems to look like the one Jeff currently uses.
