Just turned on Radio 2 for Pick Of The Pops. Today, the featured year is 1972. And what greeted me as I switched on? 10538 Overture! I had in on too, number 17 this week climbing to no9 eventually. Some good songs such as Starman, Layla, Circles etc....

Just listening to BBC Radio 2's morning pop quiz, Popmaster.
Today's first contestant had chosen bonus questions on the theme of "strange" things. To my delight, DJ Ken played a bit of Strange Magic and asked: "Can you name the group who had a hit with this?"
Mr Contestant clearly couldn't hear my shouts at the radio, cos he failed to think of an answer. Sigh.

Oh, for British forumheads - tonight BBC4 is showing a Top Of The Pops Summertime Special at 8pm. ELO are among the list of bands featured. I wonder which song will be played?

Just saw an ad for a new movie: Bill & Ted “Face the Music” At first glance- the album title Is not meant to be an ELO reference But - looking at the trailer, there is TIME travel involved as they go to the future (2095?) to write a rock anthem to unite the world or something equally ridiculous.
Only way I’ll watch is if it has an ELO soundtrack.

Not exactly ELO... but "End of the Line" by Traveling Wilburys was playing today at the grocery store (Trader Joe's).

Just been sent a link by my mate, remember 'Runaround'? childrens TV show late 70s. It's on 'talking pictures' (virgin media 445, not sure about sky) watched it this morning and in the opening titles up pops Violinski for a brief second. They must have played obviously but Mik was wearing some kind of hat that looked unfamiliar. I'm guessing that the show that they were on has been wiped...
