i really should of picked OOTB cos thats how my fascination with ELO started. but i remember being 15 and saving my pocket money for Secret Messages (an album i had no idea about) and ordering it from Our Price in Romford and loving the cover. i remember being disappointed with the music. didn't stop me playing it over and over. i saved my 50 pence pieces for weeks and i had complete faith in Jeff Lynne. so now, it is my favourite ELO album. for it's strengths and weaknesses. and at the time, i saw very few weaknesses in ELO. the last album i bought and heard was Time and it made much more sense then. i heard Discovery and loved it. but then hearing Secret Messages i thought wow what is going on. there was a gap in the bridge. anyone who sees ELO as no more than a singles band or just doesn't get it but wants to find out why, should play all the albums in order. they make much more sense and it is a thrilling experience

Lucky you. Is that a Gold (or Silver) record that was awarded by the BPI?
... and I must be thoroughly burned at the stake for loving Secret Messages as an album more so than Sgt. Pepper's. 'Not like a stake, but at the stake.

I wish I had more time to play all their albums in order, I should just take a day and do it sometime. Jim
