Speaking of which, and because I can't remember in which thread we were discussing Wilf Gibson the cactus, I just know you'll be totally thrilled to know that he's getting well into his festive flowery phase. And it's not even December yet! Here he is looking very pink and camp just this afternoon:

Wow!
"I'm just sitting, watching flowers in the Claim (To Fame)..."
Good Move, Wilf - what a star he is.

Yes! I was going to mention the conkers-and-spiders thingy, usually the conkers are on the floor along the edge of the door which would be behind you as you look at Wilf, but I put them up on his shelf when I'm washing the floor and forget to put them back. I've always found it works very well, but my Mum and a girl at work who tried it have both found spiders cuddled up next to their conkers and have lost faith. Luckily spider season is over now until next autumn, phew! Thanks for all the positive comments about Wilf, if it can be moved to the right thread that would be great, or I'll just post it again there if it's easier

What? Do you have spiders in Great Britain? Giant man eating ones, well ok only small to medium ones but they are still bad enough.

Giant man eating ones, well ok only small to medium ones but they are still bad enough. I figured they couldn't be that bad. Everything in Great Britain is well-educated and moderate, local fauna probably included; a spider growing to moster-size would be deemed an act of coarseness and surely condemned and disapproved by other spiders. Wilf, I never knew you were so beautiful. Yes he is! And apparently the homage and all the attention made him go a bit shy this year, as Uno assures he has been yet more flowery other years. BTW, I wonder what vlogdance thinks about Wilf Gibson receiving so much praise. I bet she must be thinking "bah, he's nothing compared to the other violinist".

Not at all, Helmut83, I think it's nice for Wilf to get a bit of attention. And I did sing the tribute song! Hey, this Christmas, maybe we should all adopt a little cactus and name him after an ELO/ex-ELO member? We could share pictures of their progress. Wilf would be the Godfather of forum cacti. If we do this, I'm staking my claim to the names Richard Sandy and Mik Kalahari.

I have a cactus in my garden next to my bedroom's window. I'll name him Heat McDrougthwell.

Me again. I'm probably going to regret this, but how big do spiders actually grow in Argentina?
I'm going to hide behind the sofa....
