Hi everyone, happy to join the group. I love JL and would just die to have a chance to meet him. Is there any hope for someone like me to run across him somehow? I am going to many of his upcoming shows!

Be careful what you wish for. Unless your name is Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, or Bob Dylan, you probably will find out he's not much of a people person like Bev is.

Maybe he will pull up next to you in his car at a Los Angeles stoplight. That's how he met Tom Petty, after all.

Eh, I must admit I'm not that fond of the guy so I would rather meet Mik or Bev.

Eh, I must admit I'm not that fond of the guy so I would rather meet Mik or Bev. Agreed. I had a chance to meet Mik and Lou Sr. at a couple of Orchestra gigs in 2005 / 2006, but spent my time talking with Kelly. Bev was nice enough to sign all my ELO cd booklets in 2007, and then I sent them to Mack for signature. Both men are very personable and I would love to grab a beer with either.

Did you read the account of our two lucky forumites Grroosss and nobodyschild who won a competition to meet Jeff a couple of years ago? Sadly I'm too lazy to go looking for it but he seems to have been really sweet with them. But of course that was all on his own terms. I think he is quite keen to be private other than that - to be charitable it might be because he's shy.

I am oozing with jealousy and sadness that I won't get to experience that, but also so happy for those girls.

I was lucky enough to meet him at the walk of stars event in 2014, (he had the softest hands that had clearly not seen a days hard labour). We had a chat for a few minutes and signed Bevs Book for me. That night I met the rest of the idle race members, Richard Tandy, Trevor Francis, Bryan Adams and Roy Wood. Picked up a lot of autographs that night🙂

I read a book about dealing with failure. It said that you just need to get used to it. The book suggests that you ask random strangers to do things, or give you things, like shake your hand or, ask a stranger for a dollar. The point is, some will say "yes" while others will say "No" but, you will get used to being refused.
The book even suggests asking a celebrity for an interview.....
So, I decided to do just that.
I cannot find contact info for Jeff except through a booking agency. I paid the money to join and looked up Craig Fruin's email address and the email address for Jeff's publicist. Did you know that he has 4 publicists? Yep. I emailed Fruin and 1 publicist. I have not heard back from them BUT i have heard back from the booking agency who is upset with me for using their service to get contact info on Jeff.
This woman and I are going back and forth emailing. Her, wanting to know why I joined their website, me-telling them I'm a fan trying to contact Jeff. Her- saying I have misused their website, it's not for fans. She suggests that I use Cameo or Fanmail.biz and she then kicks me out of the system. You have to pay to get the email addresses and phone number of managers and publicists. I no longer have access to those details. Yet, she keeps my money.
I write back and explain that I am a fan who wants an interview. What's wrong with that?
She responds by asking if I have a blog, podcast, or show.
I tell her that I have my own writing business and am a member on a message board that has been around in various ways for over 20 years and boasts of 458 members with nearly 800 members on at one time. I also explain that since Jeff will probably be doing no more interviews, I thought I would take a chance and contact him as best I could. AND, the websites she offered to contact him, are useless.
She may have kicked me out but I have sent the emails and still have the addresses.
At first, I was really bugged and bummed about being kicked out. Now, it's just a game to me and I accept that I've done the best I know how.
So now, I turn to you all, Is there any way to contact Jeff?

Eloise don’t beat yourself up you have done nothing wrong, if they let you pay and join their website they should provide what you paid for or refund you. I’m not surprised you didn’t hear back from Jeff’s management they don’t appear to be very fan friendly, I know from experience, they corresponded with me when they wanted something then blanked me once they got what they wanted. It sounds like someone you contacted reported you to the booking agency? At least you tried you should be proud of yourself. I’ll send you a PM 😉
