Is this the first time we’ve had a Jeff Lynne/ELO announcement that hasn’t simultaneously come from the Showdown list? Which asks the question, is it still active? Yeah, it's still active, I got an email last night in the 11 PM hour central time zone USA, Hi Showdowners! Here Is The News... "The Over and Out Tour" My observation is that the Showdown list is most busy when Jeff is busy.

Yeah but there’s no presale codes for the list this time and the email arrived long after the official announcement.

Weird, I didn't get an email from the Showdown list this time at all! As of the Vets Aid show, I was still on the list, because I got an email about that. 🤔

Had a bit of time to think about it and while I’m disappointed that as yet there are no dates for UK/Europe, nor for that matter a new album, I can’t in all honesty see this being the final word. Someone else on the forum made the point that it is more likely that a UK tour (and possibly some European dates) will be announced in a few months - or even weeks. This is what happened after the last two tours of the US. Especially given the complimentary remarks he always makes about his ‘home crowd’. I can’t see him leaving us out. And it would also make sense for an album release to coincide with that announcement and in time for new songs to be included in the set. I’m sure we’ll hear more in the not too distant. We know he’s been recording- he’s told us himself.
But while Jeff will be calling time on live performances I have a feeling he won’t go into complete retirement. He loves the studio and making records too much to turn his back on that and I have a feeling he will continue to create new music. He has nothing to prove to anyone anymore so can see him releasing new material in future but under his own name - a la ‘Armchair Theatre’ and ‘Long Wave’ rather than under the Jeff Lynne’s ELO moniker.
So will continue to wait with baited breath.

I'm always skeptical when a band goes out on a "final" tour. It often is not final. With Jeff, I would be fairly shocked if it wasn't. He was never fond of touring in the first place.
I think there are two things we can expect, a show length of about 1:45 and a set list very similar to the last tour. May change a song or two at most and if there is a new album the single from it will be added to the show. Jeff has never really thrown any bones to the die-hards. Would love to hear some deep cuts but can't imagine we will get any. I'm not complaining, just being realistic. I was kicking myself for not going to the last tour so glad I have the option to go to this one.

The big surprise is that we got the live comeback at all, a few years back. It still puts a smile on my face when I think of Jeff's quote along the lines of "I didn't know if anyone would be left in the audience when we got out in Hyde Park."

Any info on what the VIP packages will contain? And or cost? I'm sure better seats but is it just dinner and knickknacks kind of stuff or something real neat like a signing poster? I assume no one's heard word of the presale code yet? I know we're supposed to on the newsletter get it a little early but we're not that far from sale time an hour and a half from where I am and I haven't heard a word. Makes me anxious.

Thank you that is helpful. Man I really want that City specific poster I collect those kind of things but we were expecting something like that for Genesis like a city specific t-shirt and then they screwed over Boston but catered for smaller towns if it were a guarantee depending on the premium over Platinum seats I might actually do it but I have a feeling it's going to be a lot more than I want to do just for the poster without a guarantee. I wonder if such a poster would show up on eBay that would probably be a lot less expensive route. I do want seats like that though. Guess we'll see what happens. Thank you for the info

5 minutes to go, I'm in the waiting room for tickets. I have been tasked with getting tickets for the whole family and a friend, so no pressure.
