I was really shocked to hear this sad news. We all knew he'd been diagnosed with Altzheimers but I'm sure he was on a TV or radio interview not long ago and sounded pretty much as good as ever. I imagined he had years and years left.
Not only did he write fantastic, inventive and funny books he did a lot to bring attention to his condition and to the fight for the right to die when a person has had enough of a painful or disabling illness.
RIP, Terry, you lived life to the full and left us a legacy of cracking tales with thought-provoking laughs.
