Does the band target South America more simply because ELO didn't? That's a very valid point but I've given up guessing what The Orchestra's touring strategy actually is (if they have one). I haven't seen them in the UK since 2009 and apart from a few 'Rewind'-type festival appearances, they've made no move to actually tour here again since. Very disappointing.

There are a few issues that prevent The Orchestra from touring more widely. #1 - it costs a lot for them to get to a gig because it's a fairly large band: 6 members plus a small entourage of technical support and they're spread across 2 sides of the pond
#2 - many of the members play in multiple bands which makes scheduling difficult
#3 - there are quite a few competing tribute bands that are regionally based and undercut them on price
if any single UK venue wants to hire The Orchestra, they're going to look too expensive but if a group of venues got together and organized a small tour, that would spread out the cost of int'l flights
who's going to organize the UK mini tour? London, Cardiff, York and Shard End too! 2 weekends in October? Come on, Horace!

someone took the time to create a Beatles AI version of No Rewind and upload it to YT it's pretty neat to hear the familiar opening to Jewel & Johnny and then have John Lennon take the lead vocal somewhere, Parthenon is smiling
what next? maybe Kelly will be singing Hey Jude

Very cool!
Maybe The Orchestra could recreate the Lennon Medley played on the Time Tour. Lou probably has his Dad's keyboard arrangement for that medley since his Dad played keyboards on the Time Tour.
Better yet - The Orchestra should recreate Beatles Forever using the best publicly known recording of it. With technology today, creating their own version is quite possible. And if Lynne has a fit about that, he can release an official version to the fan base.

Why would anyone want that?? Lmao. Beatles Forever is a curiosity, and nothing more. An ambitious and heartfelt, albeit somewhat failed, experiment.
Having said that, I think No Rewind is ELO Part 2 etc..at their peak. Most of the songs range from good to outstanding (Over London Skies is absolutely brilliant). I wonder why they don't do another album of new material?

I have asked your last question to a member of the band in the past, and I know that at least he supported the idea (an album of new material). I am mystified by the lack of a follow up too.
As far as BF goes.....it is quite possible that The Orchestra could improve upon its basic construct. None of them have the concerns that Jeff had/has (the fawning nature, the lack of a Harrison song call out on it).

Can't we just consign BF to the bin once and for all? It's a terrible song that has no tune and cringe worthy lyrics.
Just my humble opinion mind...

The Orchestra is cranking up their budget spaceship rental for some Fall gigs. They seem to specialize in forgotten corners of the country: Johnstown Pennsylvania- famous for being wiped out by a flood; Blue Lake, California- not famous at all, but close to Eureka- a former gold rush town.

A great read about the flood is McCullough's book. All that devastation because of a lake built for rich folks.

Glen Burtnik is always busy on something old, something new, something borrowed, or something blue. His latest with The Weeklings hits all of those at once.

Happy Thanksgiving Orchestra fans. Here's some music from Lou Jr to help celebrate the season.
