I'm loving this track!!!!! Wrap yer ears around this track Lads and Ladys!!!!! Wonderful! It's like something from Time.
Imagine an 80s band in love with ELO and after hearing Jeff's early 80s grand opus they decided to take some elements into their own work - this is what it would sound like.
All the alternative/indie bands that are showing ELO influences are very special because ELO didn't just come from nowhere to create 'Xanadu' or 'MBS'. Any ELO album before Face The Music was nothing if not alternative to mainstream pop.

The Shazam were definitely influenced by both ELO, and The Move.

Jeff Lynne and Spencer Albee collaboration would be full of poptastic goodness.

I'd forgotten them! Love 5705 but never considered it an ELO rip-off. What a Night, on the other hand...shameless

"Love 5705 but never considered it an ELO rip-off."
Telephone Line
(The idea rather than the music.)

I know this is a weird one, but doesn't this track sound very close to 'Bluebird is Dead' / 'Oh No Not Susan'? Vocally at least.

See what you mean, what an intriguing sound to it too. Nice one!

The strings on the new Waterboys single November Tale (which I Love) sound very ELO influenced

This doesn't exactly sound like ELO (except for the vocoder sounding thing, which was actually a steel guitar), but I can imagine Jeff covering this, complete with Richard replicating the vocoder sound.

Don't know how I forgot this one from Ben Folds too - it screams Jeff Lynne
This is obviously influenced by The Move circa Jeff Lynne years
