I'd be elated at the news of a 2023 tour, but if it were going to happen, I feel like we probably would've heard something official about it by now unless it will be very late in the year. My ticket was bought more than 6 months in advance last time...
Whenever there is a tour, I'll be going, even if the setlist is the same. It's still ELO's music, and I'd be grateful to have that opportunity one more time, considering that I'm already too late for most of my other favorite bands. And even with the ones who are still touring likely to hang it up for good in the near future, at the prices tickets go for these days, there aren't many others that I need to see live THAT badly. (Sparks, but I'm planning to see them as many times as is realistically possible next year. Styx is still on the bucket list. It'd be cool to see McCartney or Ringo just so I could say that I have. And I do regret not seeing Foreigner when they were playing in my city this summer...)
I know I'm firmly in 'hardcore ELO fan' territory - front row seats, and nobodyschild and I still seemed to be the only ones aware that "When I was a Boy" existed! - but for what it's worth, I thought that "Standin' in the Rain" and "10538 Overture" were two of the strongest songs on the setlist, and at least at the shows I was at, the opener did bring a huge bout of cheers and applause.

Hope you get to see Sparks Grroosss got to see them earlier this year, it was a fantastic show the tickets were £37 a bargain also got to see Bob Dylan in Dublin this month another great night, Like you say if Jeff does tour again I will still go, not looking good though.

With the cost of living going up and up daily, a concert isn't going to be top of any 'must do' lists in many households, especially if tickets are as expensive as the last tours were. If Jeff WAS to say that he is touring again, for me he would have to change the set list somewhat for me to consider buying a ticket, sorry!

I’m part of a WhatsApp music group, you know the usual thing sending pics videos etc. this subject came up and most people agreed they would only go if the set list was changed. For me he would have to change it and add a few forgotten hits etc, but I doubt it would be a major overhaul. Prices now for concerts are crazy money, guess we have to be a bit more picky these days.

He's not going to announce the set list in advance though, so it would be a shot in the dark. Quite an expensive one too, based on the last tour of his I went to (for AITU). Maybe better to plan on buying the DVD afterwards...

Depending on the sales it might be possible to wait and see the set list for the first couple of shows before buying a ticket. I was able to buy tickets for Glasgow and pretty much knew the set list. I wonder if the tickets will sell as well this time round…

Still impatiently waiting for Sparks to release US tour dates, but as foolish and impractical as it may be, I'm also seriously considering going to see them at one of the Royal Albert Hall shows they've already announced... would be a great opportunity to take Horace's famous Birmingham city tour while I'm in England, too...
Hm, on second thought, I hope Jeff doesn't have any tour plans for another year or so, to give my bank account time to recover

Maybe better to plan on buying the DVD afterwards... He could say, though, in an interview that the upcoming tour will see a number of songs that haven't been played in the last few years, or songs never played by his ELO or the original ELO. That would stoke interest.

Inside source states this 2023 Tour is written in Stone. my hope is it is also accompanied with a new lp. (but that has not been confirmed.) Could the inside source provide an update on what is happening tour-wise this year? Seems to be unlikely now. Thanks.

As far as I can tell, the core of Jeff's touring band have just one other commitment for this year, and that's backing Take That for their comeback show as the headline act of the BST Hyde Park festival. I'd say it's still more than early enough for an announcement, and there's also the detail of Jeff likely performing when he's inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Indeed, I wouldn't be surprised if the new album he first promised over a year ago was pushed back until soon after this event once his induction was locked in beyond merely being a nomination.
