Wasn't this out already? Other than being in Blu Ray, in what other thing is it different than this?
And even if it's in BD, what do you win, when the limiting factor is the image and sound takes from 1978?

The audio is in DTS-HD so hopefully will sound better, but It is marketed as a Standard Definition release on a Blu-ray Disc. Basically same as the DVD's, just more room on BluRays to fit more stuff on.

It can't be in a higher definition than the one the original camera had at the moment of filming. Well, it can with some software work, but it's just interpolating pixels, wich never works the same way as having the images filmed by a HD camera.

I'm hoping the lack of On The Run from the Discovery set is just a listing error, as this is pretty much as definitive a collection of ELO videos as we can expect for now unless someone compiles all of the original promo clips as well (preferably including those currently available exclusively to YouTube, such as the '80s period ones). As for the Wembley concert only being in standard definition, a higher quality version would only ever be upscaled considering Mike Mansfield always shot on video rather than film. If there's any hope for future home video titles, I'd like to see a complete "Greatest Video Hits" type package and at least edited highlights from the Heart Beat '86 charity show, as I suspect arranging the licenses for all of the various featured artists may be why this is stuck in limbo, similar to the equally-demanded Concerts For The People of Kampuchea series that I'd love to see get an official release. Also, if the rumours of a professionally filmed show during the Time Tour are true then of course I want to see that - I was actually told something very promising about such a thing once, but I don't know if I'm at liberty to speak on the subject as this information was given to me in confidence while I was doing research on another topic...

I've gotta be honest, I don't care about video/audio quality, it's a (Cheap) BD with lots of live stuff and bonus features. I don't have any ELO DVD's, so this is the best thing to start with

Yes, it's a huge amount of material compressed all in one disc.

That's some seriously fun stuff.
But what I have always wanted to know; how much of this was embellished in the studio? When you look at the video, it's noticeable that you hear more vocals than Jeff and Kelly possibly could have sung, there are more strings etc.

Does this apply to the Wimberley concert?

To make confusion even bigger, it appears that for the OOTB tour the band used a backing track in the return (this is, only them could hear it, not the crowd) probably taken from the album version editions, so as to keep the band well cordinated in an environment like the spaceship which wasn't really suitable for playing because it was full of echoes and noises. When the first edition of the Wembley concert video came out, the engineers and producers mixed those backing tracks along with the live material, thus generating those extra instruments and voices janne talks about. That's why many accused ELO of doing playback in those concerts, but apparently what the public in the stadium received was only the musicians' playing/singing, without the backing track. Then someone warned the producers about the mistake and they made a whole new edition without the backing tracks, as the public received it and as it should have been in the beginning, but at that point the edition with the backing track had been widely sold. I can't even remember where I read this (somewhere in YouTube I think) but apparently that's how the story went.
