Ahhh, I had a feeling this album would appeal to my other half, the always awesome BSJ, I promise I chose it all on my own though. And it's a pretty big thing when she opens one baleful eye, props her scaly chin up and claws out a review, so Mr Seger should feel rather smug I'd say. In fact I'm slightly concerned she might be planning to stalk him, look out, Bob! As for Helmut83, I really enjoyed your review because the album obviously did different things for you, compared to my own view for instance. Maybe it's because you listen to things from a musician's point of view, knowing the challenges of constructing songs, whereas I'd just hear them more superficially. Anyway, great review and pretty fair considering all that chainsaw waving, cheers!

But like I said before, I really liked the album, and it's good that I've listened to it or else who knows when I would have gotten started on Bob Seger. Now I'm sure I'll search for more material of his soon. Seek out his Live Bullet album. Wonderful representation of his live shows and more great songs. His studio work doesn’t do justice to many of his songs. OK, I'll follow your advice and see what that's about.

Bah, I wanted a bit more of cutting, chopping and hitting, but the album was pretty good so I had to put the chainsaw away at one point. And thanks for the "musician" title, but it's a bit too big for this humble aficionado. Even when thanks to scratching the guitar I can realize about a couple of things which otherwise I wouldn't be able to, the main factor I think makes that difference between our points of view you were talking about is the mere personal tastes. To give an example, if you love old rock n' roll style you will surely love "Old Time Rock n Roll", know about music or not.

Yep, I'm not at all a fan of old rock 'n roll, I find it quite irritating. Old Time Rock and Roll on this album just appeals to me because the lyrics make me immediately think of all the times Jeff has said he loves the stuff. He and Bob could probably spend hours listening to the kind of songs that would drive you and I up the wall. It's such a cute mental picture

It's such a cute mental picture I never really understand how someone can hear something like "run run run run my runaway" and be like SUPER into it. I mean it is pretty good, I don't know, maybe we just take it for granted because its always been there. Jim

I love Runaway though, the sort of song I'm not keen on is something like: My baby and me go dancing all night long My baby and me go dancing all night long We go dancing all night long On the dance floor's where we belong My baby and me go dancing all night long (followed by variations on this theme) It's the uninventive, inane lyrics that mostly annoy me. Songs like Runaway or Hats off to Larry or any of Roy Orbison's stuff have interesting lyrics, in fact In Dreams doesn't repeat itself at all. And the melodies are individual, rather than one of about four standard rock and roll patterns you could fit lyrics like those above to. I've copyrighted those lyrics mind you - it took me all of 60 seconds to come up with them

Bah, I don't even have to "make a song". I only have to choose one of the four standard rock and roll patterns and make the lyrics fit. I have to give this a try.

By the way, nice job placing music to lyrics!

Well, that's a complicated web of managers. Uno is EAO's manager, and I'm a member of EAO, so in a certain way she's my manager. Now, you say you are Uno's manager, but at the same time, you have worked with me on "We are being attacked", so I think you are more like my equal or colleague than a manager. What should I do? Trust you and send you the funds?

Helmut83, it appears that Uno is trying something on her own, and I am her manger for these upcoming flights of fantasy. Please don't worry your pretty little head about this! You can trust me.

To be honest, I find trusting BSJ usually ends in shock, horror and sometimes painful injury. She's the best! But I'm so busy being awe-struck by your song to care - it's fab! I laughed all the way through. And it's so detailed already, how did you get all those layers done so quickly? The harmonica really makes it. It shall be the only rock & roll song I actually like, well done When I created those world beating lyrics I had a totally different generic rock & roll tune in mind, just goes to prove how interchangeable they are. Sigh.

1) So Uno is trying something on her own, BSJ? Why do all the artists that play with me then run away and start making things on their own as soon as they can? Am I not a nice mate? Huh? Am I not? Who says I am not? 2) I don't know how did I do it so quickly, probably because it was so standard and basic, and so short. I made a point to make only a few takes and not go mad over details as the whole point was having a laugh anyway. And the drums are fake, I did them with a software called "Band-in-a-box". 3) I was curious to see how you reacted, because the funny thing here is that you were saying that the worst crap you could imagine is a song with those lyrics and with one of the standard rock n' roll "chords + melody" patterns, then I did it with those exact lyrics and as standard as possible, and then you found yourself you couldn't say it was garbage without risking offending me, haha lol. Huge . Thanks for the praises, but hey, you were supposed to hate it! 4) And how was the generic rock n roll tune you had in mind? Could you record the singing, then send it to me? I could figure out the chords and then we would know what you were talking about...

You're a nice mate, no doubt. It's your fault with your "you can do it" brainwashing.
