ELO is part of music and pop history. You still hear the music in stores, commercials, classic rock radio ...
But I haven't ever heard an Idle Race tune played in America. Is it different in the UK?
I expect Idle Race "sights and sounds" are rare, but I'd love to see some real world evidence that the band isn't totally forgotten by the general public (we obsessive ELO nut cases don't count).

You are right! I can't remember if I've heard Idle on any of my oldie satellite stations. I know I've heard Move.

Can’t say I’ve ever heard any Idle Race songs on the radio.

Me neither, although apparently there's a new series where John Peel's son is going through his music collection and finds some Idle Race stuff. Kenny Everett also used to play them, apparently. But they're not really suitable for any radio station these days, they were more of a classic 60's sound.
(For the 'mericans, John Peel was a legendary late night DJ who championed all sorts of interesting off-beat music)

I never even heard an Idle Race song until around 2001/2002 when I found some of their songs on one of the old filesharing sites like Kazaa.
As far as hearing them played on radio etc, the only time I can remember hearing them was on an old internet radio station on Live 365 called PopBang Radio. That had to be around 2004 or so.

I've known about the band since the early 80s but didn't know what they sang so I too haven't heard anything by them on the radio.

My best guess is on Radio 2's Sounds of the Sixties and indeed there is evidence of 'Worn Red Carpet' here www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00x8589 and 'The Skeleton And The Roundabout' here www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00nm16p . But these episodes were before I knew who they were so now I'm confused. I haven't listened to the show since Tony Blackburn took over but other than that programme the place to hear the band might be 6 Music (https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b036lk70 and www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000gc0n). Marc Riley played some Idle race only last year on 6 Music www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000rcfh .
